final payment due 2/4/04, what happens if you need a few days extension??

has anyone ever had this experience? We're traveling 3 familys on the 4/4 Wonder. One family is in the middle of selling a piece of property and counting on that sale to pay for this trip. TheIR closing date is schedule for this week, but their afraid that the check might take longer to clear and might not be able to make their final payment till around the 8th, it being due on the 4th.

Call right away to see if they can extend the date or if there is a grace period! I'd do it ASAP. Good Luck.

Don't they have a credit card they can put it on. The bill won't be due immediately so the processing time from cruise to credit card and then waiting for the closing date should allow time for the check to clear. I would check with DCL but don't count on them allowing an extension.Since they know the money is forthcoming maybe they can get a short term loan from a friend or family member.

Before our 11/30/02 sailing I quit a job in Sept. 02. I didn't ressetart until the end of Oct. and wasn't sure about 10 days off right away. I was willing to gample losing the 1000.00 deposit. DCL called with about 30 days to go (I booked thru DCL direct) to ask if we were still sailing. I told them what had happened and that I could get the time off and mailed them a check for the balance. 4/4 is a prime time where 11/30 was not......but I wouldn't worry. As long as they have your deposit and you haven't cancelled you'll be fine.

This happened to us for our May cruise. We were waiting on an annuity payment to arrive, with which we were using to pay for our cruise. Our final cruise payment was due a week before the annuity payment was supposed to come. We called DCL and they said they would give us an extension. Everything worked out fine. They also said they will never just cancel your cruise without contacting you and letting you know. I don't think they would wait too long for the final payment, but call them and see what you can work out.
