Final Disneyland trip as a family of 4! Can this preggo hit every bathroom in DL?

Yay - just one more day! You'll have to tell me how dinner at Goofy's is. We will be there on May 1 and were not really planning on going there - but we did the dining plan and now we have to (long story - but I'm sure it will be good)!

I hope the weather is great for you - not too hot, not too cool - and that you get to do ALL the rides you are able to. HAVE FUN!!!!! (I gave you some extra exclamation points in case your 1 key is still broken :lmao: )

Queenbillabong--LOL, thanks for the extra exclamation points! Thankfully, my 1 is fixed. I dunno if I could do a trip report without one! Goofy's is awesome, we did it back in October. The food is good, and so are the characters. I'll let you know how this one goes!

So, we got a Chevy HHR as a rental, and everything fits just fine! We are packed and ready to go. Just have to wait for about 3-4 am and we're outta here! :yay: This time tomorrow I will be in my favorite place in the world!!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!!! We're bringing the laptop, so hopefully I will be able to check in, but I'll do an extensive trip report when we get home!

We're home! I'm pooped. Gonna get started on uploading pics, and then the trip report shall commence!

Thanks, TXAng! The pictures are uploading now, and I am writing up the trip report now. I want to get it all done while it is fresh in my mind!

April 22
I was up at 3 am, and I hopped in the shower. Everything was packed and ready to go, so all we had to do was get showered and get going. I let hubby sleep in till 3:30, and while he got showered and dressed, I got the kids dressed. They both slept through the clothes changing process, but were awake at 4 when we loaded them up in the car. And we were off!

The kids stayed up till about 5:30. They both were a little sniffly, so I gave them a little kids Benedryl, and they were both breathing easy and asleep again before the sun came up. I, on the other hand, was much too excited to sleep. I also had not slept much the night before. I kept trying to will myself to sleep, cause I knew I'd be hating life later if I didn't. I think I finally dozed off from about 6-7:30.

We stopped for breakfast, potty break, and gas at this little area on Highway 5 right before the Grapevine. We had Denny's, and it wasn't bad at all!

We got back in th car and everyone was wide awake. Luckily, I had packed a ton of toys and coloring things, so the kids were occupied for an hour or so. I tried to sleep more, but it just was not happening.

We got over the Grapevine and got stuck in some of that awesome LA traffic. The kids were getting restless and whiny. We kept driving, trying to keep the kids pleasant, and before long, we saw this!

YAY Disneyland!
134.jpg

We checked into our hotel, the Carousel Inn, because we didn't want to leave all of our stuff in the car. It was early, like 10:45. They got us a room, but it was tiny! No big deal, we're just using it for sleeping. But, it was small. Like, 8 inches between the second bed and the entrance to the bathroom.

We had a refrigerator and a microwave in our room. We didn't use them as much as I thought we would, but they were nice to have!
138-1.jpg

Finally, at about 11:30, we were all set and we walked across the street to Disneyland! You just cannot beat how close the hotel was to the park. There it is, Disneyland!

139-2.jpg

And, we're finally here!

142.jpg

Our first stop was for our PS at Carnation Cafe. Even with PS, we had to wait a little while. It wasn't too bad though, and the weather was nice. Soon, we were seated. Bert had the half sandwich and soup. Had to try that potato soup, and it was good!

146.jpg

Ethan had the peanut butter and jelly palette, and he got to build his own sandwich. I don't think I have a picture of it, but Oscar the chef came around, and helped Ethan make his sandwich! It was so cool!

145-2.jpg

I had the grilled steak sandwich and salad with raspberry dressing. The sandwich was super good, but I don't like fresh green salads that much, I am more of an iceberg or romaine kinda girl. It was still yummy, though!

147.jpg

Baby girl had the kids hot dogs, which are always a big winner for her.

148-2.jpg

The kids also each got a $6! lemonade so they could have the captain Hook/Tinkerbell light up clips.

149.jpg

After our yummy lunch, we were off to ride the Disneyland Railroad. I thought it would be fun for the kids to see the whole park before we attacked it. Kelly loves train rides, she was so excited. Both the kids liked waiting for the conductor to yell "All Aboard!" before the train started.

The "crowds" on Tuesday at around 1 pm.

Next, we headed over to Frontierland. We stopped to get our free landyards at Westward Ho!, and then the boys had to try their hands at shooting.

161-1.jpg

After that, we went over to Tom Sawyer Island. Sorry, it will always be that to me! lol Ethan loved all the stuff to do. He got lost for a minute, giving this poor momma a heart attack! But, we found him and all was good. He LOVED doing the different pirate activities, and all the bridges.

Next up, we were off to Adventureland and a ride on the Jungle Cruise. Before that, I had to hit the potty (I am 8 months preggo, after all). I decided to try and hit every bathroom in the park during our visit. I should have taken pics... lol
Along the way, we met Baloo!

181-2.jpg

After the Jungle Cruise, which was cute, we headed over to Tarzan's Treehouse. I sat that one out, while Bert took the kids a climbin'. They loved it!

Now we had about an hour to kill before our dinner reservations at Cafe Orleans. So, we went on Pooh's Grand Adventure twice and hit up Pooh's Corner! Tigger Tail for Ethan (after dinner, of course!), caramel and chocolate covered pretzel for Kelly.

Now, we were ready for dinner. The kids were starting to get worn out. Do these look like kids on their first day of Disneyland!?

193.jpg

:rotfl: :confused3 What can you do? Maybe they were just hungry? Speaking of which, here comes food!

Pommes frites. Sooooooooooooooo good! YUM!
191-2.jpg

Seafood crepes. They were just eh to me. :snooty:
194.jpg

Monte Cristo. Just as good as everyone said it would be! Drool!
196-1.jpg

And the kiddos had the kids chicken drumettes.
195-2.jpg

This is where pictures end for the first day. I am not sure why, but I didn't take any more after this. After dinner, we hit POTC and the Haunted Mansion, which was creepier than I remembered it being. It was about 7 when we were done with all that, and we were all getting pretty tired. I didn't want to go back so early, so we wandered Downtown Disney for a little while.

We were back to the hotel by 8, and the kids were passed out before 9! I took a shower, cause I was feeling grimy and sunburned. Bert and I were asleep by 11!

And if you're keeping track, I used the bathrooms in Adventureland, City Hall, Tom Sawyer Island, and Critter Country.

Fabulous! Can not wait for more! (Memo to self: eat BEFORE reading Trip reports:rolleyes1) So which bathroom is your favorite so far?

At this point, Adventureland. Cleanest I visited on Day 1. Oh, and let me tell you, I was startled to use a public bathroom back home and not have it flush for me! lol :rotfl:

Fabulous! Can not wait for more! (Memo to self: eat BEFORE reading Trip reports:rolleyes1) So which bathroom is your favorite so far?

Ha - I was going to ask that same question :lmao: Which one would you recommend??? BTW, I LOVE the Tinkerbell t-shirt - very cute!!

Thanks, Queenbillabong!

I promise a new segment in the trip report soon. I have 2 sick kiddos right now, so my energy is low. Soon, though! :goodvibes

Ok, Ok, since you insist! LOL The sick kids are vegging on the couch, so I have some free time.

4/23

We had breakfast plans with Minnie and her friends at 8:40. My husband sort of annoyed me in the morning, and I was tired and hurting, so I was not as pleasant as I could have been. We were also getting a late start, and I HATE being late. I was trying to put on a happy face for the kiddos.

The lines were long, and the park was crowded for rope drop. People were annoyed that we were trying to push to the front, but we had PS for breakfast! So, my son and I pushed ahead and found out where we needed to go. Into the shop on the left at the end of main street. So, we went and checked in. I was waiting for my husband, hoping he'd figured it out. HA! :rotfl2: Not a chance. So, i had to go back out and find him, and he was standing right by the entrance to where he needed to be. But, God forbid he ask someone where to go. So, I was highly annoyed and that made him grouchy. So, we went into breakfast in some crappy spirirts...

But, we got to meet lots of characters! First up was Minnie herself!

200-1.jpg

She was very friendly, and signed very sweet autographs for the kids. Next, we met Cinderella's Fairy Godmother.

207.jpg

She was also very sweet and chatted with the kids for a bit. Eeyore was next and he was too cute. Lots of kisses and rubbing the kids heads. It was really sweet.

212.jpg

Then Dale came over, and he was a crack up. He kept chewing on Ethan's head like it was a nut. He had the kids cracking up!

219.jpg

Lastly, we met Captain Hook. He was very sweet, especially to Kelly. She was scared of him at first, but he kissed her hand, and she warmed up to him!

229-1.jpg

231-1.jpg

The character interaction was awesome, but the food was not so great. there was very little variety. Pastries, fruit, Mickey waffles, french toast, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, hash browns, ham, and biscuits and gravy. That may sound like a lot, but I do not care for traditional breakfast food that much. I like buffets because they usually have a good selection and I can find something I like. I ate a lot of fruit that morning! :snooty: lol

209-2.jpg

210.jpg

After breakfast, we were off to DCA! On our way out of DL, we ran into Alice and the Mad Hatter next to City Hall, but neither of the kids felt like meeting them.

We got to DCA tight after it opened, and the lines were minimal. We walked right on to Monster's Inc, which the kids loved.

233.jpg

Then we stopped by Muppet's 3D, because there was no line there, either. It was cute, and the kids liked it. The 3D effects were fun. After that, we were off to Playhouse Disney Live!

Dancing in line

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse!
249.jpg

Playhouse Disney Live was awesome. The kids loved dancing and playing. They sang along and had a great time. Heck, I had a great time!

Next, we headed over to Soarin'. The line was a 25 minute wait. So, I suggested Bert and Kelly go have lunch while Ethan and I went on the ride. Soarin' was AWESOME! Ethan and I LOVED it. Being a California native, it was neat to see places you've been aerially like that.

So, we get done with the ride and head over to Test Pilot's Grill. Bert had decided to order ALL of us lunch, for some unknown reason. So, our food was cold, and he got me a chicken sandwich. I had been planning on a burger! I know this sounds so petty, but he had been annoying me all day. And, before we went on the trip, I had promised him I would avoid buying a lot of souvenirs as long as I got to splurge a little on food. Anyway, I got *****y, and he got down right mean. I left the restaurant in tears. Oh yeah, I cried at Disneyland. Not a proud moment for either of us.

Once we got over our drama, we headed to Bug's Land. We were there for an hour or so. I didn't get any pics, I guess I was still grouchy... :confused3 Then we were walking around and came across this little area with a ton of noise making things. A triangle, a xylophone made of horseshoes, a drum set made from barrels. Anyway, the kids played here happily for an hour or so. We finally dragged them away because I was getting a headache from all the noise. they loved it, though!

292.jpg

After that, we started walking in the direction of paradise Pier. Ethan and Bert went on Jumping jellyfish while Kelly and I went and got corndogs from Corndog Castle. I hadn't had lunch, and I was starving! It was soooo good! And huge!!

295.jpg

After that, Ethan and Bert went on Soarin' with fast passes and Kelly and I did some shopping. We wandered around for a bit and then headed to Wine Country Trattoria for our PS.

Even with our PS we had to sit and wait for awhile. We finally got seated, and our service was pretty slow. To be honest, we had not so great service at every restaurant we went to. It was kind of disappointing. But the food was pretty tasty!

Ethan had the pizza hotdog, and he loved it! Bert had the lasagna rustica, and he really liked it. It tasted like Chef Boyardee to me... :scared1: I had the chicken bruchetta salad and it was tasty. Kelly just had a plain hotdog.

296.jpg

297.jpg

298.jpg

After dinner, Kelly said she needed to go potty (she's in diapers, but we are encouraging potty usage, lol), so I took her to the bathroom. She tinkled in the toilet! I was really excited, it's the first time she's ever used a public bathroom. It was neat!

DCA was closed at this point, so we headed back over to DL. We went to Tomorrowland and rode Buzz's Astro Blaster's. I think this may be the kids favorite ride.

311.jpg

312.jpg

After that, we did some shopping and bought our first pins! That took quite a bit of time. Then, Ethan wanted to ride Star Tours, so Kelly and I went on the Astro Orbiters. I'm sure watching my gigantic pregnant self get in and out of that ride was a sight to behold! :rotfl:

We decided to head back to the hotel after that, seeing as how DL was closed and we had EE/MM the next morning! On the way out, the kids got light up spinny toys. Ethan got Stitch in a space ship and Kelly got Sorcerer Mickey.
