Final and Complete Trip Report with Photos Updated 1/29 page 13

It's only 40 degs outside right now.:scared1: And it's to be even colder tomarrow. Back home it's a snowy 18 and the kids have a day off from school. I can't wait to see how many brave souls are out in the parks today.:rolleyes1

It's going to be in the 20's on tuesday morning with a high of upper 40's and breezy.

Yikes! But if it makes you feel any better, thats how it was last Tuesday morning for us....When I wake up, I usuallty go to the weather on my phone, first thing, and it was 29 degrees:scared1:

Wow, it hit 52 in Boston today, I can't believe it's ''warmer'' there than here...Oh well, I'd still rather be there than here:rotfl:

Great pics. You know it's cold when Chip N Dale are wearing Scarfs and Goofy's wearing a big red coat;)

I agree its pretty bad that it's warmer in Boston than in Orlando:confused:

Wait til you see how happy Goofy was to see me today.:rolleyes1

Wake up called scheduled for 9am today so we had time to grab some breakfast before our 50 minute Swedish massages at Zahanati Fitness Center. :woohoo:

Can you say ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh? DW has been looking sooooo forward to this part of the trip. After Richard applied the $100 credit to our account, and having a coupon for $50 off 2 treatments, and $10 tip for each masseuse, we only had to pay $50 out of pocket. :wizard: Pretty magical day so far but trust me it only gets better.

After our massages we returned home to shower and get ready to go to DTD for lunch, shopping and the evening entertainment, La Nouba. We went to the Days of Christmas store and found 2010 and 2011 ornaments to add to our collection and also found an ornament for DW to give to her big DS. They started trading ornaments at Christmas when the kiddos came along. We had a late lunch at Earl of Sandwich.

Yummy as always. We bought oldest DD some pins at Pin Trader, found DW a new Tigger jacket at Poohs Corner, and then headed to World of Disney to kill the rest of the time until the show started.

One of my favorite things about WoD
a1701d91.jpg

We got in the car and drove to the other side of DTD and walked over to the Cirque du Soleil building. DW said she needed to use the facilities and while she was in line for that I asked one of the employees, who was helping patrons with their tickets outside the ticket office, "If he was to pick any seat in the house, what would he consider to be the best seat." He then told me it was in section 204 about 5 rows up, then he asked me where my seats were, and I told him that they were section 103, row A, seats 7,8,9, and he said, "I'll see you inside." Why did he say that?:confused3

DW came back from the restroom and we headed inside to get a drink and find our seats. We bought a program for $13 to go along with the dvd we'd picked up in 2007, which of course we've watched at LEAST a dozen times:rolleyes1 and then we got drinks, went to curtain B and were directed to our seats.

As we got there we sat in front of family with a young son 12-14yrs old. We told them that no one would be sitting in seat 9 since that was the seat DW's BFF was suppossed to be sitting in, so they rearranged so that the young kid was sitting without anything in his line of vision.

The clowns started their act with the people in the back row (if you've never seen this show we strongly encourage you to do so, it is incredible and worth the $$$, there isn't a bad seat in the house). The show started and there were a few changes since we saw it in 07'. The German wheel act has been replaced with a jump rope act that was pretty awesome. There is so much going on at the same time it's hard to decide what to watch.

The acts proceed until it is time for the cycle act. If you've never seen La Nouba before, please watch the next clip so you will understand what is going on.Click here to watch a video of what happens next in the show.

I will give you time to watch, it is about 7 minutes long. Trust me you need to watch the video if you've never seen the show to understand what I'm about to explain.

Ok here comes the magical part. Right after the Diablos and the Clown act came the cycles act. The first guy is on a BMX type bike doing all kinds of cool tricks that even my dad once said, "you will never become anything doing those bike tricks". He was great, then came a guy on a mountain bike, he hops down the stage steps and bounces on 1 wheel all the way up the stairs, behind the section we are in and bounces down the other side. When he gets to the stage he looks both ways to see which way he wants to jump, lines up almost in front of me and leaps the bike back on stage in 1 jump. It was sooo cool.

Then one of the clowns lays down on the stage and he bounces the bike over the clown from his head to his feet. At that point one of the clowns comes down into the audience and walks up to me and held out his hand for me to take and follow him up on stage. My heart is beating out of my chest at this point. On the way up he says to me, "It's your lucky day". I remember the voice, it was the same guy I spoke to in front of the ticket office.

Ok this is DW now and this is what I saw from my seat: When the clown took DH up on stage one of the other clowns (there are 4 of them that act together) sat down in DH's seat and put his arm around me and pulled me over close to him. I was laughing so hard that I was almost crying. It was hysterical. They had DH lie down on the stage next to another of the clowns and he sat up and looked down at DH, then reached over and pulled DH's shirt tail down over his belly where it had riden up when DH laid down. He then patted the belly that was sticking up under the shirt.

It was really funny, the entire room was laughing. The cyclist then lined up parallel with DH and the clown lying next to him and jumped over them both at the same time. As soon as he jumped, the clown sitting next to me threw his leg up over mine and wrapped his other arm around me like he was terrified. Again, I was laughing so hard:lmao::lmao:. The clown next to me then got up and left and DH and his clown got up and they all took a bow and DH came back to his seat, and the show continued.

After the show ended DH was presented with a magical moments card that shows him to be a Honorary Circus Performer. pixiedust:

Ok it's me back again--after we left the building I was soooo pumped up on adrenaline that I didn't want to go back to the room yet so we drove over to MK and hung out there for a while. We did the Monsters Laugh Floor, COP, got a fast pass for Buzz that wasn't good until 10:30pm and then we wandered over to Fantasyland to watch Wishes from behind the castle, another first for us on this trip. And for whatever reason it got very wet on the ground, puddles even. By the time Wishes was over DW was freezing so we headed out and came home.

It was a fantastic 1st full day at WDW. Can the magic of tonight be topped? :confused3 Guess you will have to stick around to find out.

Hope the weather improves! We arrive tomorrow night late from KY and it is supposed to be in the low teens when we leave. I am looking forward to some warm weather - are you still at AKK? We will be there starting wednesday - can't wait for a wonderful disney Christmas vacation!

Hey KY CruiseCrazy:

We checked into Kidani yesterday. We are staying on the 4th floor just past the Pumbaa elevators!!

We have a standard view studios, so no running animals for us. We did enjoy hanging out in the lobby some yesterday and enjoying the animals.

This is a wonderful Christmas trip. Last night at MK, I felt like Ralphie's little brother in the Christmas story. Its interesting to walk around in every piece of clothing you own. :cold:

This morning we checked out of Kidani and checked in at BLT and guess what??? Our room was ready woohoo:woohoo: Our view of Bay Lake is the bomb, but I don't want to get ahead of my TR so thats all I will report for now. More to come later.pirate:

I fixed the video link. Monday Night Football was on, football is football for this family!!

Never done a spa treatment at WDW or anywhere else. DW wants too, but I think I'd rather do a Segway tour.

What an exciting trip you are having!! Hope you are staying warm and enjoying BLT. It's one of my favorite's. Wish you could have gotten your performance on video for you to enjoy it in years to come. How fun!

Nothing like a little TLC for your body. It's so worth it.

We have the video we bought a few years back that I watch a lot. Now I will see myself and DW. The most magical time!!:wizard:

Here is a quick update. At the start of the week we were in record low temps and now today we could be hitting record high temps. :lmao:

We are home now. We might have more time to update the TR now. We were on vacation by the way.:lmao:

Can't wait for another update!! By the way, were you by any chance in the MK on the evening of Mon the 13th? I saw someone who looked an awful lot like the pictures posted of you in a store on Main Street!

Not on Monday, sorry:hippie:

Well, it's Dec 23rd and I still wish I was still at AKV. I enjoyed myself on this trip so much, I didn't get a chance to look around AKV or BLT. I still miss the smell of WDW. I can't explain it. It's just the smell of a WDW restroom:confused3. Hit up the Florida turnpike restroom after you have been at WDW for 8 days. The bathrooms at Epcot during a food & wine fest, ever been to the restroom at a baseball game? Need I explain more?:lmao:

Well, here is that quick update. Since I started to plan for our first DVC trip, I have been "wishing" for things to happen. The possibility of MSEP to be at MK in Dec.:woohoo: A chance to see the space shuttle launch:headache:. DW BFF deciding to not go at the last minute (talk about last minute changes:scared1:) Hoping at La Nouba to get pulled up on stage during the bike act.

Having my girls with me for Christmas is always a big deal to me, in 2008, we all went to WDW and MK on Christmas day. Driving straight through from WDW to Mt Washington Ky (Only 862 miles):rolleyes1. Getting to see a wonderful Sunrise at WDW. (I will post the photo later). Having DW to make it to the Fantasy Football Superbowl. (she has been playing since 2002. I'm truly a lucky man) So much magic that has happened in the past at WDW.

2005 DW,DD,DN and my self got to be the Family of the day at MGM Studio's
firstfamily-1.jpg

2007 when DW and I won fast passes during the year of a million dreams. I told DW since there was time until the Capt Jack pirate tutorial Part 1 Here and Part 2 Here. It was the funniest thing to happen to Mac and Capt Jack.

In 2010, I got the chance to be at a Cincinnati Reds game where they won the NL Central title. Please watch Here. On this day, the fans needed it!!:goodvibes

2005 going to an Arena football game, sitting in the upper deck and leaving the game with a football. It bounced off my brothers arm, off DW's head and right into my hands!! DB is still pissed that I got it!!

2007, We went to our first every MNSSHP dressed up at Goofy and Mrs Pott's and walked in to see the Family Fun Day Parade, watch Here. Watch how the characters react. Also in 2007, getting to ride ToT solo. You can watch it Here. Oh yeah, also in 2007, having DW get sung to. Or should I say, Mrs Potts. Watch Here.

Now if all goes well, in a little over 24 hours, I should be experiencing my first ever White Chirstmas.

With last minute Christmas shopping with the kids, having family game day fun playing Uno, The Simpson's Life, Sorry, and WDW Scene it!! And tomorrow while DW is at work (she is a RN), she will pick out a patient to give a Christmas Teddy bear to. I feel so lucky and happy to be alive.

For those of you getting back from WDW, I know you want to go back. There is something special about WDW. I want to tell everyone from my family to yours,
Merry Christmas to all. and please watch this last video Here. Thank you for reading or just lurking:hug:.
:grouphug:

p.s. We will be finishing the TR and posting it along with pics after my DD's go home. They don't know DW and I went and we don't want them to be jealous.
