I know it's been mentioned that the cameras and sets are up on Main Street so that the Disneyland portion of the Christmas parade can be filmed today, but I hadn't seen any mention of this year's hosts. When I asked a CM on my way out of the park last night, I was told the hosts will be Selena Gomez and Nick Cannon.

The whole celebrity thing is not my cup of tea, so I had to look up Nick Cannon to see who he was! I did at least know the name Selena Gomez (thank you Disney Channel). Man, I feel like an old fuddy-duddy when I have no idea who these younger "famous" people are!

I do hope the filming keeps the crowds on Main Street for my last half day today!

lol, I never know who all these new famous people are either. The only reason I know who Nick Cannon is, is because we watched some episodes of America's Got Talent last season and he was the host. Otherwise I would have no clue.

Hope you have fun today and hopefully the crowds won't be too bad!

I didn't know who they we're either!:lmao: Thanks for telling me! :worship:
Have a Blast today!

I was walking from Buzz to Frontierland and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy is performing. I have to admit, THAT was pretty cool. They just sang Christmas is Starting Now.

Off to BTMMR and HMH!

We were there a couple of times when they were filming the Xmas special. We got to see Ryan Seacrest (as he was hosting) and Rascal Flatts perform. We also saw Hannah Montana (Miley) being interviewed before she was crazy famous!

The year we were at WDW over Thanksgiving, we came into MK and immediately inside the front gates were the Jonas Brothers performing for the WDW Holiday Parade (this was 2007 when they were really big). About a ZILLION tweens going mad for them LOL. (Our dd was 7, so she wasn't as starstruck) The crowds were so thick that they let us walk BACKSTAGE behind Main Street to get around the filming, which was AWESOME (my first time backstage!!)

As it turned out, we made it backstage again, later that same day!! Apparently the technical/electrical demands of the parade resulted in several power interruptions. We were on POTC and the power failed, we had just gone over the first drop and stopped. After a bit of being told by 'the voice' to stay seated, they got the emergency lights on and CMs in waders came and pushed the boats back to an exit point and we were evacuated backstage :cool1: We even saw where the parade lines up (I would have LOVED to get some pics, but they had CMs stationed about every 20 feet telling people to put their cameras down LOL but they were handing out fastpasses to everyone for the inconvenience:thumbsup2)

Thanks for your thread--it really brought me back to a fun memory!! Hope you have a magical day :wizard:

It was definitely a zoo there today at least on Mainstreet and the Hub. We watched some of it but moved on to do rides.
