Hi there, we go on the 6th for 2 weeks, we normally go the week later as we own week 7 at Vistana. (6 out of the last 8 years)
We will avoid the parks this year on Pres weekend, will shop, perhaps go to seaworld. in the past we have done a water park on the Mon. Most people are at MK or Epcot. We have done MGM and Universal, both busy but not unbearable.
Use Fastpass and if there is somewhere specific you want to eat then get a ps.
The crowds thin from the Tues and by the Friday are fairly light again.
Anything specific ask or pm me.

We went in Feb 02 and the crowds were low to what we were expecting the most we waited was 1/2hr in MK for the big thunder mountain the rest was only 15 mins at the most. The weather was reasonable trousers and thin jumper and we even had a couple of hot days when we went to the water parks. There were days when we were in shorts and tshirts.
We are off on the 5th feb so are excited also. Not going to pack much this visit going to do our shopping when we arrive.

Hi guys,

We have been in Orlando every Feb for the last 7 years, most of them over Presidents Day weekend. The americans tend to take this as a long weekend so this means the crowds are heavier from the Friday through to the Tuesday. Mostly this has an effect on the main Disney parks as this is where the Americans tend to head (they tend to stay onsite and stay in the Disney parks) By Thursday they have gone home and the parks are much less crowded. We made the mistake a couple of years ago of going to MK on the Wednesday and it was a nightmare compared to our second visit a couple of days later....a lesson learned!

With this in mind we usually stay away from Disney for those few days and do Seaworld, Kennedy Space Center or Universal - as Wendy mentioned, the water parks tend to be a good choice too although Blizzard Beach is normally closed, TL will be open.

With regard to weather - it's usually like a British Summer which means temperatures can go up to 80 but can be as low as 65. Thunderstorms aren't as common as in the summer but the rain can be heavy and it can be chilly in the evenings. We usually pack shorts, t shirts, light trousers and a fleece for throwing on in the evenings.

A good tip is to watch the Weather Channel in your hotel room/villa - these guys are very accurate and you can then change your plans to suit the weather. (i.e. if they say it's going to rain then don't plan a water park)

Don't forget the Mardi Gras parade at Universal which is great fun with live concerts on on Saturday nights.

FEEBEE,

Hey, we are going on the 7th too and also for three weeks :cool1:
Looking at your location I guess you are also flying from Manchester. If so are you on the Virgin flight?

It is also our first time but we have planned to avoid WDW around President's weekend. Might head down to Clearwater on the Sunday.

WOW the 7th Feb is a popular date - we are going then for 2 weeks! Countdown has begun!

Hi, we are going on the 14th Feb, we last went Feb 2001. This time we are avoiding MK on President's Day but did go last time and tho' it was busy we still managed to do most things, gets a bit crammed for parades and it might be an idea to go back and do the evening parades on another day. We plan to do Seaworld on President's Day this time, we have a multi-day ticket and figure whatever we don't get to do on the Monday we can always go back to. If we ever go again (hopefully) at this time of year picked up a tip on another discussion board to do Discovery Cove as limited numbers mean there will be no Q's!

In 2001 weather was very hot over 90 most days and we took back every pair of trousers unworn, it's a case of packing a bit of everything and see what happens! Have a great time, we are in a state of countdown fever and I don't think it matters how many times you have been the magic doesn't wear off!:Pinkbounc
