Fill in the Gap in the ADR

With the changes at the AK, I wasn't able to book the Donald's Breakfastasaurous. (I think that's the spelling), and since there is no 'official' replacement yet, I can't book anything. Really not a huge deal, but I am at a loss as to how to fill the gap. We are on the DDP, and here is the ADR schedule we have booked:

Nov 29 1600 -- Liberty Tree Tavern Character Dinner

Nov 30 1025 -- Norway's Princess Breakfast

Dec 1 1635 -- 50's Prime Time

Dec 2 1700 -- Hoop De Doo

Dec 3 -- WHAT SHOULD GO HERE (Visiting Animal Kingdom)

Dec 4 1940 -- Chef Mickey's

Dec 5 1920 -- 1900 Park Fare Cinderella's Gala Feast

Any suggestions? It would have to be at a resort, or at the Animal Kingdom, as we didn't buy park hopper tickets. We will have our own transportation.

Thanks for any help!

I'm in the same boat for our vacation... I think I'll wait and see how people resond to your thread

I would add Boma since you are doing AK that day. Most of your choices seem to be character/fun ones, so maybe Whispering Canyon Cafe would be more to your taste?

Where are you staying? What meal do you want that day? What time does AK close?

Staying at the Cabins at Fort Wilderness. Our group is Me, my DW, my (almost) darling SIL, my DS 9, DD 5 and DD 1. We are looking for something the kiddies are going to like. That's one thing about the kid's meals -- they are pretty straight forward choices. And lastly, AK closes at 5:00 pm that day, according to the most recent schedule I can find at Disney.

Wispering Canyon sounds like it could be good. Is that the place with the "Where's the ketchup???" shtick?

Never been but it sounds good logistically. Right near home base.

You could save a credit for the DTD or BW restaurants that dont take Disney ADR's and just see what you fancy on the day. :goodvibes

I don't have any suggestions as we decided to have lunch at Rainforest Cafe. I mostly want to say hi. We will be at the cabins at roughtly the same time as you Dec 2-8.

We are doing Ohana on our AK day. The kids can request basic kids stuff (like macncheese) I hear. And there are activities like limbo. Or go to DTD if you don't have that in your plan. Great place to walk around with kids and lots of choices to eat (CS or TS).

Which resort are you staying at? Kona and Cape May are awesome for breakfast and dinner

I agree with WichedWench, WCC at WL would be right up your alley! Lots of fun for the kids and easy to get to! They play games with the kids and do stick pony rides around the restaurant. The Lodge is beautiful and the boat ride to and from is easy.

Hmmm, As with just about everything else in planning this trip, tough choice here. I think I am leaning towards the WCC at WL (I think I am starting to get the hang of these acronyms!:rotfl: ) Because I am interested in going to place that are not 'ordinary' and will hold the kid's interest for longer than a second. The Rainforst Cafe is also a consideration, but I don't believe it is on the DPP list. With the full schedule, I know that I will be paying OOP of one the days -- likely our first day there. In fact, DTD is the plan for the afternoon of the day of arrival, the 28th. We are driving, so I wanted to not have a deadline for driving. That way, less stress, we aren't aiming for a specific time. So it may very well be Rainforest Cafe for dinner on our first night (or it might be lunch on Sunday, or ...)

Anyway, thanks for all the suggestions! I wonder how long it will be before WDW makes it official re: Character meal offerings at AK?

Oh, and GOOFY4DONALD, great to hear that you are going to be at FW, too. It would be neat to meet someone from these boards. Any tips for a FW newbie? All information is welcome!!!!!:thumbsup2
