Filet recipe - questions regarding ingredients in recipe

I want to make this filet recipe, but I have a couple of questions:

On what isle of a grocery store would I find beef consomme - by the canned soups? And are shallots a type of onion?

The consomme should either be near the soups or bouillion. I used to use a dry version.

The shallots are a type of onion and the size of a boiling onion, usually. Look near the fresh garlic.
