Hi
it’s been a while since I cruise
and also been a while since I inquired about cancellation fees cause prior to covid never tought about cancelling or push back a cruise
let’s say I cruise in feb 2023 ( looking at mid feb )
when is my paid in full due ( latest I can pay ) ?
let’s say I cancel before that paid in full I get back my deposit without penalty
I know covid might be a far distant tought by then
so let’s pretend with still covid lurking around ( I think there was special cancelling policies now but might be back to normal by then
or without covid around
I ask also because might travel with my daughter SIL à and grandkids and want to know the real policies
with covid
and regular times
thanks

As long as you do not book concierge, your deposit & all other money is fully refundable before the paid in full date. When you book, the paid in full date will be listed.

Hard to say what protocols and special payment/cancellation options there will be in 2023 but right now during Covid if you or a person in your group tests positive or is suspected of being near someone who has Covid within 14 days of your cruise you can call DCL (or your TA) and cancel without a penalty. DCL does not want sick people onboard. No questions asked; you don't even have to provide a positive test to them. They will just cancel you with a refund or move you to a new date if you want.

If you test positive for Covid on a PCR test between 11-90 days before your cruise you can apply for a port testing exemption called 90 day Covid recovered which (if accepted) will waive your need to test at the port as they know some people test positive weeks after infection. You must provide a positive PCR and a doctor note saying you have had covid and recovered and are clear to travel. These items need specific things on them like date of PCR, place it was done, birthdate, etc. The doctor note must have name and address of doctor office, his signature, your birthdate, date of exam and that you were examined and are clear to travel.

If you test positive at the port they will deny you boarding and offer a refund or change of date.

I believe the pay in full date has been extended also but I can't remember the exact amount of days before a cruise that you have to pay by.

I feel DCL has been pretty generous with their cancellation policies during Covid.

Who is to say what will happen in 2023....it will be a mystery for now!
