I am going to be moving to Omaha in May, & since we will be going from two incomes to one I was trying to reset my budget. I just can not seem to find any good estimates, so any info would be appreciated.

1. estimated water bill
2. estimated electricity bill
3. estimated gas bill

I did not know if you guys combined these bills with one supplier, ours is currently all paid on separate bills. If it helps I think we will be moving to the Millard or Papillon area (at least that is where we are looking for now). Thanks so much in advance. You can also PM if you would prefer. :wave2:

Well, it depends on the size of house, sprinkler system, etc. Our house is 3600 sq ft and our electric bill is set for $175 monthly payment plan. We have 2 ac's and a hot tub (costs extra to run in the winter). The gas and water are combined (MUD). My water bills this past summer were much lower than I expected, but I think it might have to do with our new front loading washer, just guessing. I couldn't believe it saved me that much! But over the summer my lowest water/gas bill was around $40 and last month it was (Nov) $130. I'm expecting my next one to be probably double because the cold is finally here. There is no choice, we only have one of each of these companies. For telephone, tv, internet there is Cox cable and Qwest.

Thanks that is about what I was expecting. It seems that the winter months for you guys, is bad gas wise. Our electric bills are usually high in the summer in LA, so I guess I can just basically flip flop my seasons in high utility cost :)

I am not in Omaha but I have to say that it is usually MUCH less expensive to heat your home in the winter around here then it is to cool it in the summer in LA, Florida, etc. based on previous thread about utility costs. It really comes down to your home and how weatherproofed it is. Last year with the high gas prices our highest gas bill was $160 but most of them were in the $100 range. The year before they were in the $70 range.

Our water bills from all the various places we have lived have all been pretty consistent 40-70 ranges, winter/summer. Electric bills run about $75-100 with a high of $300 this summer but that was with the 5 pond pumps running, AC and 45 day bill because we moved, etc.
