Few OKW Studio questions

Hello - thinking of renting points for an upcoming vacation and wondered if OKW still has the Two bed and if not can an air mattress fit? (My Ds is 15 and DD 18) also with renting are we allowed to add on the dining plan (and what might the cost be?) TIA for all your help Michelle

Your post will probably be edited.

But, yes, OKW still has two queen sized beds in the studio. You could probably fit a twin sized air bed somewhere. And you can add the dining plan - you will pay for it when you add it. Not sure what the DVC cost for the plan will be in 2012 yet.

take out your specific dates above - it sounds like you are looking for a rental (which is only allowed on the rent/trade board).

yes, if you are renting you can have the DVC owner book the DDP for you without adding tickets. the DDP is around $46 plus tax per adult and would have to be paid at the time you add it (not at check-in like it used to be).

specific prices and other options related to the DDP (quick service plan and deluxe plan are also available, IIRC) are available on the dining boards. if there is a holiday upcharge, DVC stays do not pay the upcharge.

Ok great thanks off to do some more research (last time i rented we couldn't add the dining plan) so there is no priceing difference between DVC and Hotel rooms on the dining plan if i understand your post correct. Thanks Michelle

i looked over on the dining forums and it looks like the basic DDP will be $52 per person per night (edit: for 2012)... just FYI. (not sure if tax is included or not.)

The biggest problem with adding the dining plan is you have to pay the member when you want them to add the plan. So you have to figure out a way to give them full payment for the dining plan in order for them to add it.

OKW is a larger resort so waiting till 6-7 months out will usually not be a problem.

for holidays like easter (or any of the period between thanksgiving and new years'), i would try to book at 10-11 months out.

if you really want a villa near the hospitality house area of OKW (near the lobby, boat dock, main pool, gift shop, olivia's), then i'd probably try to book closer to 10 months out to make sure i got one of those villas.
