OK, going to book our trip in the coming weeks for either March or April of next year.

If we choose March dates, we get to cruise over to Lakeland to catch the Tigers in some spring ball. If we book in April, theres a chance some friends and their kids can join us.

On to some of my random questions.

Trailer maintenance: It goes withou saying, I know... The furthest I have traveled away from home with my popup was about 200 miles. Should I buy a 2nd spare? We will be coming from Michigan. I will be repacking the bearings before we go.

Canopy/awning. I have both and would like to errect both. Does FW frown on the easy up canopies?

Ice: I saw somewhere the campground has ice... here comes the question that I all ready know the answer to: Is there a charge... ok, what is it?

Distance: From the the campground to the lodge, how far is it, miles, feet, yards or minutes? Walking.

1. How old are your tires? if there older than 5 yr or have dri rot replace them
2. It never hurts to have 2 extra tires you never know what is on the road
3. Get a small 2 1/2 ton bottle jack they come in handy all the time
4. Have a great trip

Almost everyone uses and awning and an Easy-Up.
Ice is in every loop ..... of course you pay for it... it's the Disney way.
The Lodge is about 1 1/2 miles from the campground via a nice paved path or halfway there is the nature trail along Bay Lake.
April is much hotter than March!

Check when Easter is next year. Crowds are usually horrible on this week because a lot of schools are out for spring break!

Lots of people use portable canopies. Ice machines are by the comfort stations. There usually is a dispenser with the empty bags mounted on the side of the comfort station. Get a bag. put your money in the ice machine and it will dispense a set amount into the bag. I think it's $2.00

That would be the reason our friends could join us. Our children will yet to be in school, so we do not have the time constraints. Their children just started, so we would need to wait until their break. :teacher:

as for it getting warm, I do know this, I lived in Florida before and have been to Disney in 09.

Im just one of those OCD people who need everything planned out ASAP, even for a trip 365 days away. :surfweb:

You will find the Ice at the trading post is a lot better and last a lot longer than the CS ice for just an little extra charge. We use 2 EZ-up canopies insteand of our RV awning

I think one extra spare would be fine, you probably aren't too far away from a place to have a new tire mounted. What are the odds that two tires would fail on the same trip? I have done two 2000 mi total trips, one to the Fort and had no troubles. My tires are now 9 years old and I am replacing them due to dry rot, one bubbled on the side wall last summer as I was airing up to go to Holiday World in Indiana. It became my spare last summer. I figured it would get me to the next exit at a slower speed. We have been at Disney twice during Easter week and loved it. We had the boys get their picture with the Easter Bunny on Main Street and did an Easter egg hunt at Port Orleans where we were staying. Crowds were big but not as bad as I thought they would be. Ice was $2.00 at the CS when were there last, wrote it in my journal. One small tip, about awnings, make sure to tilt the heck out of it while you are gone. We got a 2 inch down pour in an hour, by the time we got back to the camper the awning was ripped off the camper and the metal poles bent. The CM told us they lose 2-3 awnings a week in the rainy season. Fortunately our Geodome Canopy shed enough water and wasn't affected.

Definitely fun to do Disney with friends!! Even if it is more crowded, how can you not have a good time. After all, it is Disney!! I can't imagine not going with friends if you can (if you like them well enough to spend that much time with them - ha ha)! Either way, enjoy your trip!!
