Few general ??'s

New to the Disney Resort thing so have a few questions:
1. Can anyone rent marina stuff for any resort?
2. DO resort(value) guests have access to any beaches?
3. How long after Park closes do busses run to Resorts?
4. Is eating at resorts any cheaper then in the parks themselves?
5. Can you pick the spicific building you want to be in at a specific resort shuch as wanting to be in the Woody/Buzz building or the Aruba building?
6. Deposit is fully refundable upto 5 days out?
7. If prices go down after booking can you get the lower price or are the specials always for new bookings only?

I will try and answer your questions the best I can...I'm sure someone will be able to elaborate a little more on certain areas.

1. Can anyone rent marina stuff for any resort?

Yes you can stay at an All-Stars and rent boats at the Poly (or other resorts)

2. DO resort(value) guests have access to any beaches?

not at the value resorts themsevles...you cannot swim in any of the lakes at the WDW resort

3. How long after Park closes do busses run to Resorts?

I think 2 hours or until for the most part everyone is picked up, but you might check on the transportation board for sure.

4. Is eating at resorts any cheaper then in the parks themselves?

I think the prices are fairly similar if you are just getting burgers, chicken fingers, etc. Sit down is more ex*****ve then eating at the food courts in the resorts...check out http://www.allearsnet.com/din/dining.htm and you can view menus and prices.

5. Can you pick the spicific building you want to be in at a specific resort shuch as wanting to be in the Woody/Buzz building or the Aruba building?

You can request a certain area/building/room when you book, but that is all it is a request. If you are traveling at busy time of year (christmas, easter, thanksgiving, any time kids are out of school) don't count on getting the request. I have had luck getting requests in both September and January when WDW is fairly empty. The last time I stayed at CBR (Jan 2005) I just asked at check-in if it was possible to get a room in Jamaica and they were able to accomodate me.

6. Deposit is fully refundable upto 5 days out?

This is kinda confusing to explain...In order to receive a refund of your deposit you must cancel 5 days prior to your arrival date...so it is more like 6 days (This is just for a room only reservation). Packages are like 45 days

7. If prices go down after booking can you get the lower price or are the specials always for new bookings only?

You can call and re-book if you are eligible to use the discount, it is valid for when you travel, if it works for the type of accomodation you want, and if they have the accomodation you want available during your time frame.

1. there are restrictions on boat & marina rentals, like 16 with a license, some of the rentals like water mice have other restrictions like age 13 or none like the pedal boats & canoes. typically a child can ride with an adult on most of these water recreation rentals.
2. no there is no access to a beach at value resorts, although you can go to either water park for a beach like experience.
3. the buses run typically 2 hours after park closing.
4. yes it can be cheaper to eat at the resort than a sit down restaurant, the values offer a market stand with sandwiches, etc.
5. you can book a preferred room with a building request but it isnt guaranteed but disney does try.
6. depends on the package room only, with tickets.
7. you can rebook & get a cheaper price with a special, dreams unlimited travel agency is great about doing this for you so i read.
