Festival of the Lion King tumble monkeys

Hi all! We are big fans of FOTLK and especially enjoy the tumble monkeys. The last time we saw the show was in October 2014, so we were quite surprised when we returned this week to see that the tumble monkeys' portion of the show is no longer. When did this change happen? Their quick appearance in the finale wasn't enough.

They usually still tumble. It is quite possible you saw a showing where the rig was deemed unsafe or a tumble monkey was out sick so with out the whole crew the stunts can't be performed.

Yes at what @wilkeliza said. They are still in the show. You just happened to have the unlucky event where one of them had an issue and couldn't perform or there was an issue with the rigging system.

I was at AK the day after Halloween and the first show I went to only had three tumble monkeys so they did not their routine. But when I attended a later show, all four of them were there and the tumbling was performed.

Like was said, illness, injury, or a rigging issue could have made it where they could not do their full routine. It happens. It's the "fun" of live theater/performance.

You were lucky. We were at the noon show I think and there were just three and they did not do the usual routine.

We saw them too this week. They were all there and did their usual routine. Maybe it was just an off day?

We saw them in September, and when we were there in November, they weren't in the show. I posted on the DIS that night asking, and I was told that if there was an equipment issue or if one of the monkeys was sick, that would explain why they weren't performing. So I assume it was that. It's the same thing like Tinkerbell flying in the MK, if for some reason it's deemed unsafe, Tink isn't feeling well, doesn't weigh in correctly or there's a question of equipment, then she doesn't fly.

hey must have just been down a monkey or the bars weren't safe. They're DEFINITELY still there and part of the show

Just saw the FOTLK today for the first time. Amazing show. The tumble monkeys are a huge part of the show so what happens when they can't perform? Is there another act they add or do they shorten the show?
