Festival of the Lion King Returns to DAK on June 1

Theater is set up the same, but bigger and has AC.....still wish they would have put backs on the benches

The previous theater was enclosed and had AC.

(It didn't start out that way, but just a couple of years into the show, they closed the show for refurb and rebuilt the original theater and added AC.)
It was air-conditioned for well over a decade.

Is there a specific FP+ seating section, or does having a FP+ just guarantee a shorter wait in line? FOTLK is my very favorite thing at WDW- I can't wait to see it in October!

We have a FP+ for later on today, so I can answer this after we come back tonight!

We went two days ago and it was basically the exact same show. The inside of the theatre looks identical. The outside is a new set of buildings built behind the tusker house. They look like the other buildings in Africa.

When I went on Tuesday, 3 out of 4 sections were "reserved" for FP+, but not specific rows, so you can have just as bad a seat with FP as standby. There was a separate entrance to the right for FP and in front of the main doors for standby. Although the FP line was longer, there were quite a few people in line for standby, but I don't know how many, if any, we're not able to get in. Pretty much they open the doors all the way at some point and people just stream in, not even checking fast passes, so really not sure how important they are. Perhaps we will hear from people that we shut out because of FP, but until then I would consider it equivalent to a Fantasmic FP. It guarantees a seat but that's about it.

We did FotLK this morning, we had a 12:30-12:50 FP+ but wanted to go after our ADR at tusker so we headed over at 11:55.... We walked in and the theater was almost full, but we scored awesome seats! And we sat down and the show began. It was fabulous, but we have never seen it before, so I can't speak to how it compared to the previous show.
