It's official - the Festival of the Lion King will be closed August 25 - September 19th. It is on Disney's website today in the refurbishment/closing section.

I can't believe how many things are closed in September!

I keep hoping that the closer it gets to my vacation (9/13-9/20) without the Tower of Terror or Rockin' Roller Coaster being put on the list the less likely they will actually be closed. Wishful thinking no doubt.

It was this board that posted about the FOTLK as a rumor and now that's confirmed on Disney's website so I am sure the TOT and RNR murmurings will also come true!! Oh well - I guess there is always next year!!

Well at least they are letting us know. By not having it up on the site they were giving me a glimmer of hope.
Thanks for posting.

Just FYI, RnRC is only supposed to be in rehab for a week starting 9/6 and TOT will have one side running during your stay--according to the rumors. So the only attractions closed while you are there--FOTLK, BTMRR, Animation, Swiss Family Treehouse.

loyd,
this is what is posted at mgmstudios.org

One side closed the morning of the September 5th. One side closed Septmeber 18th through 21st, and both sides closed September 22nd through the 26th, and back to one side closed the 27th through the end of October.

.....
Looks like TOT will close right after I arrive, so I will make sure I get to MGM on my first day. Thankfully FOTLK will be open when I get there. I have never had a chance to see if before and was really looking forward to go this year.
