Are any of these free or a low cost? I saw some on the website, but the cheapest I could find was $45.

I wish I could help, but I was also looking for a schedule or more information. Just giving a friendly bump.

For adults all I found were the paid workshops - I booked one. And I'm planning on painting a small part of the mural. I'm going to read all the posts I can find from last years Festival of the Arts and any that come up for this year so I don't miss anything.

This is my first time going to it. Usually I go to the Flower and Garden Festival.

We probably just won’t do any workshops. We went to this festival last year for the first time and it’s my favorite festival!

We did the paint by number mural last year and I thought that was fun. I might need to check into the animation academy. We don’t have kids so idk if it would be frowned upon for us to do it or not
It says 'kids of all ages'...which means adults as well as kids. I would assume the animation academy should be similar to the animation class that is at Rafiki's Planet Watch at Animal Kingdom, the one that used to be at Hollywood Studios, and the ones they do on the cruise ships.

For the mural painting, they will give you a little cup of paint w/ a number, paintbrush, and tell you to paint 2-3 squares with that paint number. We did it on 2 different days last year. We went for the squares that are up high to leave the lower ones for the little kids. It was fun! We enjoyed going to the Disney on Broadway shows as well, didn't need to book a meal to get a seat, and for one of them, we just stayed back in America (by the fountains) and listened to it from there. We also loved the food!

Do you know where the animation academy is held?

It says that it's at the America Gardens Theater (where the Disney on Broadway shows are held?) I don't know if they had the animation academy last year...and if they did, it was probably in a different location, like the Odyssey building before they updated that in the past year.
