Dh and I discovered this morning that our cars were gone through last night while we slept! :sad2: We found our glove compartment emptied out and other little nooks and crannies pawed through. Nothing seems to be missing however a friends car three or four houses down was also hit and she lost $45!! We found out later this evening that many many cars in the neighborhood had also been gone through. From what we can figure, they were just looking for cash.

So just as a little Public Service Annoucement, even if you think you live in a safe neighborhood, make sure you car doors are LOCKED at night!!

Sorry that happened.

That's why I always get the kids to move their bikes so that I can get my car in the garage. I even try to beat DH in to get the best spot.

I'm so sorry. We had our car broken into while we were out to dinner one evening. They broke out the passenger side window and stole the diaper bag.

My SIL just had her car stolen from her driveway. She lives in a tiny, quiet neighborhood so she always leaves the car unlocked, with the keys in it. :confused3 On this particular night she also had left all her sons new school clothes, her cell phone, her purse and her $4000 stenography machine. They found the car 2 weeks later, but none of her stuff.

This happened to us about a year ago...but, I forgot and left my purse inside :furious: !! A KID took my information, CCs, money, phone, and palm pilot for school! I found my wallet a week later- ripped up by the main road. It does make you feel so upset to have your private life tampered with!
I'm sorry! :guilty:

I couldn't agree with you more. A couple of years ago my Jeep Wrangler was gone through in my driveway during the night. We have a ton of lights on the front of our house too. From then on I've been kind of paranoid when I first walk up to my car like someone's going to be in it. A week later it was broken into again while I was at work, in the middle of the day, right in front of the drive-thru at the bank I was working at and no one saw a thing. It just goes to show it happens everywhere and not just when it's dark outside.

YIKES!!! :scared1: This is so sad!!! And this is my biggest fear. I NEVER pull my car :car: into the garage but I will say every night I stand with my keys in hand (right inside my front door) and hit the little remote to HEAR the BEEP that my car is officially locked.

Sorry, OP, it does make you feel totally like you were violated. :grouphug:

What a coincidence! Late last week someone stole the ashtray out of my DH's car in our driveway, I guess for the change he keeps in there. I really don't care about he probably $12 bucks but why did they have to take the ashtray and remote opener that were in there! that is about $150 at least to replace those 2 things.
For some reason they didn't steal mine and my car was out there to. DH said it is because my car is too messy and they were afraid to open the door. So see another reason to be messy!

We have two big motion detection spotlights right on the driveway and that didn't seem to stop them! I am just so shocked that nothing was taken. My wallet was right in the visor above their head but they must not have seen it! There was a scratch ticket, only worth $2 there and they never took that. A little tray full of small change that was never touched either. I guess they were just looking for bills...I don't know. I just felt so sickly all day thinking about it!!

I'm sorry this happened to you. My parents used to leave their vans in the driveway unlocked. Well during the night someone went into their cars. All that was stolen was prescription sunglasses. :confused3 They left the cd's there. Later on we found out it was the little (words I cannot say here) kids down the block who did it. They did this because my mom was the one who called the cops on them for tresspassing and setting a fire inside an abandoned house. But I digress. They now lock their vans all the time. You can never be too safe. We are just lucky they caught the kids.
