Feeling very very sad. My favorite cat (a good friend) died today.

DH called me at work today with some awful news. He found my favorite cat dead on the side of the road. The road is quite a distance from our home and has light (but fast) traffic... so he was really traveling for some reason and apparently luck was not with him today.

DH loved him as much as I did... and cried while he buried him. Now I am crying as I type this. Guess I need to grieve for a while.

Floyd was one of those souls who come into your life and you know when they do ... that you are blessed.

He was gentle and loving. He always let me know that I was the most important thing to him - running to greet me when I came home - coming to get me in the evening if I stayed on the computer too late for his liking ... escorting me to bed so he could sleep snuggled next to me through the night.

Tonight he won't be here to call me to bed.

I know just how you feel. I lost my dog, Sasha, who had been with me for 10 years on Wed. Today the numbness wore off and it's been a very sad day for me. Hugs and Pixie Dust.

Aww Laura, I'm so sorry to hear this! Floyd looked a lot like the cat we had for 13 years. I remember how hard it was when he died. {{{{HUGS}}}} for you!

And {{{HUGS}}} for you too Sunfleur! I've never owned a dog, but I can imagine how hard it is to lose a member of your family like that.

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.

I am soooo sorry. I am sending lots of hugs for you. My special kitty, Black Kitty, died October 27. I do have another kitty, a female who happens to also be black. It helps, but it still hurts.

Thanks all. I really thought that I hadn't given my heart completely to Sasha, that I'd be OK when she was gone. But I was naive. She had wormed her way into so many corners of my life, it's going to be hard. DixieDreamer, I do have a cat who I know is deep in my heart and I can only imagine how hard it will be to lose her and how you must be greiving the loss of your Floyd. He looks like such a sweet and loving pet.
I keep thinking this is crazy, it's just a silly dog, I knew I would outlive her. But nothing really eases the pain. I hope that you have all the support that you need in this time of loss.

Oh Laura - He was beautiful. This is so sad and I send you my deepest sympathy.

Our Oliver, the only one of our four cats who goes outside, was hit by a car a week ago tonight. Fortunately he survived, came back home and we got him to the vet rather quickly. Recovery is difficult but at least he is recovering.

I have been where you are now with three other dear animals of ours. It is never ever easy. {{{HUGS}}} to you and your family.
