Feeling "grumpy" about my weight lately

At 147, I'm still comfortably within reach of my WW goal weight of 145, but I really hate being on the high side of that weight instead of the low side. Plus, I'm really thinking I'd like to lose another 5-10 pounds - I know losing 75ish so far is great, but I still have lots of belly going on that I'd like to get rid of.

Up until now, maintenance has been a bit of a struggle. I've been wearing a Body Media band regularly so I have my actual calorie burn per day - but I've never been able to pin down a good calorie deficit to achieve additional weight loss. I don't know what's up with that or what I'm doing wrong.

This week, I ditched the Body Media band and I'm trying to follow WW points again - but man, it seems harder now than it did before. I definitely got used to being able to eat a bit more. Hopefully it gets better after this week.

I can totally understand. I have been struggling to stay at my goal weight this year. Admittedly, I lowered my goal several times before finally deciding that life at 130 would be okay.... I even managed to hit 129.? earlier this year. But as I said, I have bounced up several pounds and I am struggling to end the year under 135.

I think part of my problem is perimenopause.... it is killing my metabolism. And I gave up running as part of my exercise earlier this year (because I really dislike it), but I miss the calorie burn, so I have tried to add some running intervals into my workouts lately.

My biggest suggestion would be a return to a week one of WW approach. Weigh and measure every portion, be sure to be getting healthy oils, a few servings of fish, and plenty of fruits and veggies. Remember to journal every single point. Try to remember the excitement and enthusiasm of week one!

If that doesn't seem to work, try a new exercise. If you mostly run, try adding in some weight training. If you are a walker, try some run intervals. If you do regular cardio and weights, how about Yoga or water aerobics?

If none of these seem to work, try changing a few BIG things in your diet. Like dropping carbs, changing from coffee to green tea, adding nuts as a healthy snack.

Good luck. You have made remarkable strides and proven that WW can work! Hopefully the new year will find you with renewed enthusiasm and vigor to keep going!..................P
