I want to run the Hyannis, MA marathon at the end of this month. The medal is 2.25" as opposed to the half medal which is 1.75". The 1/2 inch bigger medal is drawing me in.

Here is my question. My long run since Disney is 12 miles. Since I have not done a gradual build up for this one, am I risking injury by throwing in a 20 mile run next weekend or is my body still in marathon mode. Thanks for the input.

Scott,

I have no advice for you!

I just wanted to say that my Mom was trying to talk me into doing that race. But Hyannis in February? :cold: Definately NOT for me!

Remind me...you did the WDW marathon?
I think you will be fine. You have run 12 miles once? Yeah, go for it if you want. You can always walk if you need to.

Good luck!

Just work out a little before the marathon....GOOD LUCK I am doing my first one in 2008 and training now. :)

I think you will be fine. We are doing the Gasparilla 1/2 in Tampa, FL in 2 weeks -- after doing the Disney 1/2. We have kept up our long runs, but do to my heavy class load at the school the other runs throughout the week have majorly slacked. My point is I am amazed at how much stamina we have maintained.

GO FOR IT !! AND GOOD LUCK :thumbsup2

Throw in your 20 miler and you should be fine.

I ran at Disney. On Sunday I just did a 20 miler and I'm getting ready for Gasprilla on 2/17.

You are right in line with my training schedule. No a lot of build up because it has just been to wet and cold (for florida).
