Feel like the Discount Fairy Skipped me!

No codes for me either - We have APs so I tried the AP discount first, and then today the GP code. Nothing for our time frame at GF, Poly, BC or YC. What the heck is going on October 22-27.

I stuck with our original BWI (group discount for DH running the 13K TOT race). We have a price of $283 before tax. I'm just nervous because we never stayed at BWI before and love the other resorts.

I called today after finding my first Pin code mailer in 5 years in my mailbox. The CM I had was soooo sweet, but all that was coming up for my dates was BC and YC water view for a total of $1299.36 for three nights:eek: . That's almost $200 more than what I have with my measly 10% AAA discount! She told me to get my TA to apply it to my existing standard view room, but I'm being told that it's not good for standard view?! WTH? Sad to believe that AAA is beating a PIN code!

 Let me tell you how frustrated I am at the discount fariy's perfromance. Our dates are 9/26-10/4.

First you have free dining offer good for check in until 9/20 for up to 14 days (10/4). This would have saved us +$700, but since we check in 6 days later it not applicable for us, despite the fact there will be folks on with free ddp while we are at wdw. Why not allow check it later than 9/26 but cap length of stay to 14 days and/or not to extend beyond 10/4.:headache:

So then there were the GP and DV codes that came out in late july good for stays through 9/28. At least they were room only and I was able to take advantage on one of these codes (DDH) to discount the first 2 nights of my stay. Savings $95 total on a ASMu-FS.

Now here come the new GP code this morning good starting 9/28. A 8 night stay looks to be saving around $450. Sure there was avaliability at the resort and in the room class, but I miss check in by 2 days. Any split reservations would, well, off set the cost savings of the code.

I guess it pays to check in on Sunday. I'm so frustrated

See my thread on the AP discount.

Last year with the AP rate we saved over 45% and received a $75 dining gift card. This year at the poly we would receive 17.25% on 5 of our 8 nights or 18.8% at the GF on all our nights.

I am very, very disappointed in Disney.

We were originally booked Poly GV $399/night + tax ($3590.96 including tax total). When it wasn't available, I switched to GF GV, for $360/night + tax ($3240 including tax total), saving $350.96 over my original ressie and saving $600 over rack rate.

Since then, the Poly has opened and would be a savings of $75 per night on 5 nights (other 3 at rack rate) for a total of $3169 including tax, saving $421.96 off my original booking.

However, I might switch to the cabins for a total of $2050 including tax, saving $1540.96.

I called this morning and used the codes that were released today. We already had a reservation at the CR with a tower, theme-park room view. Our package was discounted $696.36. We are staying Dec. 18-22nd. So yes, there are discounts available for the monorail resorts. We ended up upgrading to deluxe dining instead of just the regular dining. With the deluxe dining, it was still cheaper than the price we were given on our package with the basic dining plan.

I'm staying at a MOD and was only able to save $135 over and above my AAA discount. BUT I had to move from POFQ to POR to get it. I'm a little disappointed in that but I'll take whatever savings I can get.

Oddly enough, I'm wondering too if the values saved the largest percentages this time? I guess WDW knows that the deluxe guests are going to go anyway so they are discounting the lower cost rooms (value and mod) to entice the newbies to go and get the "disney fever". :confused3

I'm going Thanksgiving week. I called this morning and the cm said I could switch to BC from the Poly and save 1000. I just called (again) and the cm said I could change to the YC and save 1000. We really want to stay at the Poly, on the monorail, since we have 2 young kids. Oh well! I think AKL was available, also. We're taking MIL, so we can't all stay there.

We are staying at the Polynesian October 18-24 and I tried 3 different codes and none of them worked. The only code that worked for me was "SOL". ;)

That's odd. They accidentally moved me into a club level at Beach Club when I first called to apply the code.

That what I thought as well but I was told this by Guest Services. Maybe our dates are different or you got a better CM than I did. All I know is what I was told. I am glad someone got it. I called about ten minutes ago & still no luck, I even tried other resorts but was told the same no discount on club level. Oh well maybe I get lucky Friday. Happy for you
Like I said it wasn't in the cards for us but it is okay we are still going & staying at the Yacht Club Resort Lagoon View. :goodvibes

We had no luck with the codes today either. We made room only reservations through AAA for BC for 3 nights 11/8 - 10 and for WL for 2 nights (11/11 - 12) and bought 5 day passes from undercover tourist - our total cost was about $2500. 2 CMs quoted me package prices for just the first part of our stay at $2200!! With the cost of the 2 nights at WL, the total cost if I booked directly with Disney would have been over $2800!!
I guess we'll stick to what we have!

When you say total cost, do you mean tickets and resort stay?

You are the first CR Tower person I have read that got a discount. The others were wing rooms. Good for you;)

For all those who got a good discount today !! WTG. I for one didn't one but oh well I will live. It would have been nice to get something off but not in the cards I guess. but I am happy what I got our resort for our trip in Nov/Dec for two rooms at the Yacht Club Resort Club level Though I might call back but was told they wasn't giving any discounts for any club levels. So I was told twice. :confused3

I was offered an AP rate for water view YC CL for 9 nights but you had to take dining. Over $7,000. Too much for DH and me. No AP rate available at either the CR or AKL or any other deluxe except the YC CL offer. We got AAA rate for our 5 nights at CR but are paying rack rate for AKL. No fairy dust here.

I got a huge AP discount today on my WL room only for 12/20 -- although we switched from bunk beds to queen beds (not sure how much impact that part had), our rate went from $489 w/tax to $252/tax.

So, if you're willing to switch to or stay at WL, you might do better with the AP discount. I was actually shocked at how much it was -- too bad we're only staying 1 night before moving over to DVC!!

I called about ten minutes ago & still no luck, I even tried other resorts but was told the same no discount on club level.

We also got (a very small) discount on our AKL - CL room. To get the deal though, we had to move our check in dates from 12/10-14 to 12/13-17. Now we're checking in on my birthday!!!

I must say though, this being our first year being real Disney freaks and going to the parks and such, I'm pretty disappointed in Disney and their offerings. I guess I was expecting a little more of a savings than that. And we got the Disney Visa for the codes which turns out to not do a darn thing for us this time! Even the AP rate didn't work out for us with our rooms and original dates.

We certainly won't be able to pick up and head to Disney for a long weekend if we can't get better deals. :sad2:

I was so happy to see this thread since my dh and I were so bummed. Seems as if the last few years the only discount we get are the aaa. If they did not have the DDE program - I would give up my AP. I do not use it for parking - I have the visa card so I get a discount at DD. Years ago we were giddy when the codes came out. Now I am not sure why they bother or maybe it is the time of year we go. Value season - maybe they just do not need to offer any incentives. I know the concierge rooms are always all taken so they don't need to be bothered to offer a discount. Plus my DH says he absolutely hates making the calls to try and get any information since you get a different answer every time you call. Today he said he got lucky and talked to a very nice CM who knew as much as we did. Tried every combo he could think of - 1 day package and rest room rate, ap, visa code, aaa...you name it - the guy really tried. He said he remembered all the good discounts but in the past few years Disney has been moving more discounts to their packages. Since we don't want to go when it is hot or hurricane weather guess we will just be happy we have aaa. If Disney could correct one thing in business that they are terrible at - they should hire the folks on this board to take the calls for reservations! Every year we swear we will go to a travel agent....and give them the headache!

:rotfl::rotfl: Same code I got for AKL Oct 21-27. Saved me $0.00 and now I can upgrade to the warm bucket of spit.

OK, so we didn't get a code discount today... now what do we do? Anybody think a Disney VISA code will come out or does that make no sense now? Do we just wait until Sept to see if other codes come out.

When you say total cost, do you mean tickets and resort stay?

Yes - the hotels cost us $1660 and the tickets were $842. The BC was $333/night - standard view and the WL was $297 -courtyard view. We have 1 child under 10, 1 child that has to pay the adult rate (he's 11) and 2 adults. We purchased 5 day base tickets - no hopping, no water parks from undercover tourist before the price increase.

That is the only one that would work for me too :lmao: So we are at POR October 11-19 at rack rate, we can't even use AAA, because we are booking through an incentive program. I was hoping to upgrade to a deluxe, but the only rooms available for the Columbus day portion of our trip are at the All Stars or Fort Wilderness Cabins. I guess I'll keep checking, maybe there are folks out there who booked hoping to get a discount and will cancel or downgrade? But we have non-refundable air and great ADRs and heck were going to disney in about 58 days :cool1:
