With less than a week to go, I just realised that I know absolutely nothing about what to do when we arrive as far as Magical Express goes.

Could somebody who has done it enlighten me please?

Good question! we are using DME for the first time in Oct, we are booked as a package with Thomas Cook so I'm guessing I will just follow/find our rep...but maybe not :confused3

Once you're in the main terminal (after riding the little tram thing) collect your bags if you haven't done so already.

go down to level 1 (where there are the car rental agencies counters) and go to the far end of the B side (well actually it depends where you arrive at)

you'll find the DME counter, check in and they'll direct you to your platform. (you need to collect your bags and bring them to the DME counter)

here is a small PDF to help you out.

Joh - take your luggage with you to the main terminal in the transit. Once there turn left and take the lift down to floor 1 which is labelled 'Car rental and ground transportation'

Once there turn left and head for Magical Express which is well signed :goodvibes

Go to the desk and they will print your boarding passes. Then proceed to the next desk and they scan you boarding pass and tell you your lane.

Then you board and the driver will stow your cases under the bus.

On return they tell you what time to be at the boarding point with your luggage by a letter left on your door the day before check out.

and for the journey home, DME just started checking in luggages for international flights at the resorts (select airlines only)
this service used to be only for domestic flights, but this has changed recently. Ask your resort's bell service or concierge for the latest and most up to date procedure if you qualify.

Thanks for your help everyone :thumbsup2 I think I already know this but is it better to keep our luggage with us on the monorail rather than do the drop off thing?

Unfortunately, we won't qualify as we're flying BA.
