DH & I are thinking of an adult only trip in February(14-19). We have never been in February so was wondering if any one has experience with this time of year. I know it is leading into President's Day weekend, and the last days of value season. What might we expect from crowds, weather, etc. If we go it will be our first adult trip, first time in February and first time to fly so we are covering all new ground with this trip, just wondering what we might expect.

Hi,

You will notice the crowds increase on Saturday the 18th. President's Day weekend and into the early part of the week is crowded. Fortunately you will most of the rush!

As for weather, expect anything and pack accordingly. You could have some days in the 70s and 80s with cool nights, and you could have some mornings in the 30s with afternoon highs around 50, all in the same week.

Our family goes the week before President's week every year and find the crowds to be very manageable. As Bob stated you will see an increase towards the weekend. Remember that the Daytona 500 is the Sunday before and does account for some of the weekend crowd as well.

Maybe we have been really lucky but the weather has always been on our side. We have had some really beautiful days the past two years and hope to carry on that way next trip. It's usually cool in the AM, warmer in the afternoon and then cool again in the PM. My DH and I usually carry some sort of light weight jacket with us just in case. Other than that we wear shorts or capris depending on the park.

Hope you join us that week. We (9 of us) will be staying at the POFQ from the 11th to the 18th.

It's a great time to go, We usually go in Jan. or early Feb. as well. Park hours are shorter but not to worry because of the fewer amount of people. These are the hours that I remember from last year. Of course this will probably not be the same this year. You also have to figure EMH. Maine :firefight

You will love it at this time! We went back in 2000 at this time and it was warm during the day (low to mid 80's but not at all humid) and cool in the evenings (I wore a jacket most nights) and cool in the mornings (we were always out of our resort around 7AM for early character breakfasts and I still wore a light jacket). We did not have any rain on this trip but one day was overcast.
Our biggest problem was we flying back to Chicago. Ohare got 15" of snow the day we were set to go back. We couldn't fly back for 2 days- what a shame to have to extend our vacation.......... :earsboy:

Dh and I went once for Valentines and the park is decorated with hearts and lots of red flowers. I remember that they have benches with huge hearts on the back and it makes for a great photo op.

We wore pants but short sleeve shirts, we were warm but then again we live in New England so any weather above 30 is going to feel warm to us l :rotfl:
