February UY and Summer Vacations?

I'm waiting for the ROFR process on a BLT DVC bid I placed. (crossing fingers, about 2 weeks into the estimated 4 week ROFR length of time)

The UY is Feb. Say I have enough points to get the room type I want once a year during the Summer. How can I book for Summer (June) with a Feb. UY, on an annual basis, so no banking/borrowing needed?

I don't understand what you are thinking. You get your points in February and you book in June, no banking or borrowing required.

Use year has nothing to do with when you can call to make ressies, which is always 11 months before arrival at home resort, 7 at others. Points used are determned by when you will be there not date you call to reserve.

Example, you want to go to home resort in June 2011. You can call July 2010 and make ressies for June 2011 trip using points to be issued Feb 2011 and those would be your "current" use year points for that trip since that issue is determined by when you will be there. When you call in July 2010, you could also bank points from Feb 2010 into the use year that begins Feb 2011 and use them for that June 2011 trip. Moreover, if needed, you could also borrow points from the Feb 2012 use year.

If I get my points in Feb. and want to take a June vacation, when would I book?

I can bank or borrow, but prefer not to. I'm trying to use all of my points annually for Summer vacations.

Here is how I remember what I can use to pay for a trip. I figure out what UY my trip will happen and go from there. I know that all trips can be paid for using banked points from the previous UY, current UY points, and borrowed point from the next UY.

So, if you want to travel in July 2011, it will take place in your Feb 2011 UY. You can use banked 2010 points, 2011 points, and borrowed 2012 points for that trip.

You still call in August 2010 (11 months out) to book your trip at your home resort. What MS will do is look at your account to see what will be available at the time of travel. As long as the points will be valid when you go, you will be all set.

A Feb Uy works out great for summer travel.
