Hi,
Some of us from the February 2011 trip planning thread have decided to start a motivational thread to help us shed a few pounds before our respective Disney trips in February.

This is open to anyone, not just people who will go in 2/2011. We just want a supportive environment to be able to share successes and setbacks.

To start, I'm Dee and I live in Ohio. I would like to lose a minimum of 20 lbs by February. I would be thrilled to lose up to 40 lbs!

I'm going to be doing somewhat of a revised low carb diet, and adding some low impact exercise.

How about you? If you have tips to share, or just need to find some comraderie on your weight loss journey, we are here for you!

Here's to winning at LOSING!! :yay::yay::yay: <----- me doing jumping jacks! :woohoo:

Hi Dee!

Joining in- I'm Allison (or Alli) from Ohio:) I would love to lose 10 lbs before our February 12th trip!!!

Hi, Dee and Allison!

I'm Beth and would like to lose 10-15 lbs before our February trip (not quite sure when trip is yet).

I'll be using mainly the treadmill. :sad1:

Beth

Hey jumping in here another Beth. I am trying to take off the baby weight and my daughter will be 1 year in February. I am also running at Disney at the end of February, so hoping to take off 30lbs by then. So far I am down 15lbs, its slow going but at least I can see progress. :cheer2:

Good luck ladies and enjoy your trips in Feb. princess:

Hi Beth and Beth :)

Alright- guess I should confess: Dinner was great brown rice, chicken, broccoli with a tiny bit of salt........ and then I it all went down hill when I found the cookies lol :)

I'm Lynne from Ontario and I'd like to shed 20 lbs by February!
I just plan on doing more exercise. Very simple, right? :cheer2:

Hi

Small goal - 10 pounds

Attainable (but way more gratifying AND intimidating goal) - 20

So scary it doesn't seem possible but wouldn't it be nice goal - 40

I am so in!

We are headed down Feb. 24 and the rest of the family will be arriving the 25th. My DD is running in the Princess Half Marathon. I would just like to be able to keep up with her at the parks, LOL!

I am diabetic and my sugar has been wacky lately so I am really trying to stay away from sugar but since i started the medication, all I do is crave sugar. It makes me crazy.

I want to lose 25 lbs. by Feb. 24th to help get my sugar levels back on track and I will be doing this by walking and watching the carbs as best I can. I find that if I exercise, I can eat more carbs. My kindle and I will be on the treadmill every day!

I am keeping track on my iPhone and seeing how far I would get if I were walking to WDW. So far I have 748 miles to go :rotfl:

Good luck to all of us!

Didn't forget about the thread just haven't had a chance to stop by yet until now :)

My son is not yet 4 months but I would really like to lose 10 pounds. That would put me back at my summer before pregnancy weight (aka skinny! lol) and ideal weight. For me it's going to be a bit tricky as I am still nursing and can't really cut too many calories. I do need to get back in shape though, I'm thinking that's where the 9-10 lbs I'm holding onto comes from. Need to tone up but not exactly sure how to go about doing it now. Hopefully the humidity and heat leaves MI soon so I can get back out with my HUGE double stroller and resume our nightly walks.

We have been buying only whole grains for the family and trying to eliminate any white pastas, breads etc... I already consume a low fat diet due to medical issues so good to go there. Carbs are my love...and sugar too. I CRAVE sugar baaaad, esp. chocolate. This is probably going to be tough for me:mad:

Hi everyone! Welcome!!

Sorry I was absent this week.. it was one of those weeks where I worked, got home and had to be somwhere, then when I got home again, barely had time to get my son to bed, housework done, a little more work done, and then to bed myself! I really missed my disboards time :sad2:

Anyway... I'm glad you are all on board and I know that we can do this!! My ultimate goal of 40 pounds might be a bit daunting, but I seriously will be happy if I'm a few pounds lighter than now. Every little bit helps!!

So, I'm officially starting to watch what I eat on Monday. I, as I said before, will be watching carbs and upping my exercise level. This is going to be hard considering the number of hours I've been working recently, but I will try! I will hope that I can come here and type out what I'm feeling, instead of heading to the refrigerator to grab something (yep... I'm an emotional eater BIG TIME!!). :scared1:

Sounds like we're all on the same page for getting healthier and happier! I'm so glad to have you along, and I'm really looking forward to getting to know you a bit better through this process.

Happy Saturday everyone!!!

(Aren't you glad we don't have to post our starting weight??? :rotfl2:)

YES!!!! I truly appreciate all the people that posted their stats in the "Can I ride forbidden journey"esque threads, but even my husband doesn't know what I weigh. Only one person does, my best friend. And even that was hard even though we have known each other since we were three. I give myself a little more slack on the weekends (ex sugar in my coffee) so I am REALLY enjoying my coffee today :)

At some point I am going to have to add exercising to my calorie cutbacks. I just keep putting it off :rolleyes1

I am joing in. I am Elizabeth and from Ohio. My mom and I are going February 6-15 and staying at Pop. I would really love to loose about 20 lbs before then. I have lost 20 so far this year and 20 more would be great.

Hey everyone!! I was psyched to see this thread! I'm Kara and l'm in Massachusetts. Just booked last week for 1/28-2/5/11 :cool1: (sooo excited to FINALLY be going back)

Here is my plan....I want to try and loose as much as possible by the time I go, I don't want to set a specific goal amount because I have too much to loose and I know it will take me longer than February.
I am going to start and do low carb after Labor Day. That is when the kids go back to school and I will have time to plan, cook ahead and get some exercise in. I've done low carb in the past and it's worked well for me.

Let's go fello Disers!! :cheer2: WE CAN DO IT!!!:cheer2::cheer2:

Hi Elizabeth! I'm in Ohio, too! And so is Allison... are you here Allison??

Anyway.. welcome to our little corner of the disboard. We are glad to have you and will do all we can to keep you motivated! Congratulations on your weight loss so far... that's phenomenal! Tell us how you did it!

And Hi Karalynn! You are going to be doing what I'm doing, basically. I started my slide into low-carbing today. I first start by giving up flour and sugar. That gets a LOT of carbs out of my system, and then in a few days I will cut out more carbs (the potatoes and rice, etc...). It has worked for me in the past, too, so I hope we can share some ideas to keep it "fresh". I do fairly well for the first few weeks, but then I get tired of the same old things to eat and I start to go back to my old habits,.... so maybe if we both come up with some new ideas, we can keep both of us honest and on the straight and narrow! :thumbsup2

Mandy! Glad to see you here! What did you decide about the resort? I need to go and read the February thread.

OK, guess I should head to bed. I will be back tomorrow to report my day two progress. OH.... day one... I did OK. Not great, but OK. It always takes me a few days to really get in gear. I can always find reasons to have a bit of this or a bit of that.... so breaking that habit is HARD:eek:

Sleep well everyone.... wherever you are! :tink:

Love that idea! I may just have to try it. The first week of no carbs is pure... you know what! ;)

hmmmmm....I'm noticing a trend in our Ticker backgrounds! What good taste we have!
