I have a potential trip to Orlando at the end o February for a continuing education class. However airfare seems pretty high. Is all of February peak travel season? I’ve always avoided Orlando in February

Spring break might happen around the last week of February for a handful of colleges.
Some schools may be out around Presidents day for a long weekend.

I'm not sure why February would be a time to avoid Orlando. March, April, June-August, and Christmas/Holidays, I get.

And what's "pretty high"? Have you been tracking/comparing airfares?

The airfares are high for late March too .
I actually was able to use DVC points for new Villas at Disneyland but the airfare is too expensive .

I decided to fly to Orlando in Feb a few weeks ago. Mondays were a lot less than the weekend rates. Feb 19 I got $124 which is showing much higher now. Feb 26 I got $184 and it is also much higher now. The car rental is the highest expense for that trip for now. Almost $500 for the week,

The week President's Day falls on is a busy time in my experience. We had a hard time in the parks in 2018 that week and did a few days again in 2021 (social distancing and capacity limits made it less busy that year).

Also, the northeast has a week off for what they call "mid-winter recess" (we don't get that here in DC but did growing up in NY as did surrounding states). Many people head to FL.

Depending on when Mardi Gras falls, that may intersect too (looks to only be a couple of days at most next year). From what I've read on these boards that affects Orlando too.

A) airfare is just high right now, the airfare for 4 people in Feb 2024 is what we paid for 6 people last year in the same week
B) i think it depends more on where you're coming from

January 2024 check airfare United's MCO prices were cheap today. I cancelled and rebooked for a travel credit.

Airfares fluctuate all the time. Sadly, the early bird doesn’t always get the worm. Statistically, around 3 months out is when rates are typically their best. That’s definitely not a given though, so track airfare. You’re far enough out that you have time to watch.
