Well, I made every effort to read through the entire thread tonight! I made it to page 11. This is a chatty group and I cannot wait to cruise with you. Can't believe how long ya'll have been chatting about this cruise. Thought I was a planner.
We went on our first
Disney cruise this past April on the Dream. I dug in my heals and refused to leave the ship until hubby booked another cruise. Just teasing! It was our first Disney cruise and we had such a blast. Disney just makes everything easy. My happy child was over-the-moon the entire trip. We participated in the FE and it was so much fun. We loved the treasures each day. Even though this is our second Disney cruise, I'm a huge Disney fan. We live 90 minutes (if hubby drives) from WDW and visit regularly.
We originally booked for 5/3 but my cousin announced her wedding date (5/10) this week so we moved up our cruise a few months. DH (34), DD (2 yo), and I (?) will be cruising with my parents. We'd love to participate in the FE again.
Quick Question: B/c we had to switch our cruise dates early seating is no longer available. We're on a "wait list." How like is it we will be able to switch? I'm use to cruising RCI where the late seating is more desirable than early.
Going on the cruise will be Myself (Lisa), DH, (kids ages at cruise time) DD8, DD4, & DD16months. We are very excited!
Yeah! Our daughter will be 25 mths on the cruise! Hoping she'll have a buddy to play with in Nemo's Reef (is it called the same thing on the Fantasy?)
I'm not a crafty person so I'll have to find somewhere to buy an extender....I've heard esty is good. Is someone on here already compiling a list of those who are participating? I've seen a lot of magnets as gifts.....any other good ideas that anyone wants to share?
StichesNBows on Etsy created our FE. I'm not crafty either.
On this cruise it will be (ages at time of sailing) Me: Vicki 43, DH Marty 46, DD Adriane 15, DS Zach 11, DD Stephanie 9, DS Isaac 6, DS Vincent 3, DS Elias almost 18 months.
Yippee! Our DD, Kennedy, will be 25 mths on the cruise.
Anyone thinking about running the
castaway cay 5k? I definitely hope to.
Yes. Do it! So much fun! It was the hottest 5k I have ever run but I just loved it.
I find it interesting that you happened to ask this question today, because I was wondering the same thing just this morning. I just started training yesterday for a half marathon in May and I really hope to keep up with running after it is done. I am really interested in the idea of running the 5K at Castaway Cay, so maybe it will be the motivation that I need to keep running.
Way to go! You're going to get bit by the running bug!
Hello!
My family just got off the Dream and we are looking to book this cruise. I would love to be added to the FE. I completed the Castaway Cay 5K on the Dream. It was my first 5K and would recommend it to all.
Completely agree! The 5k was one of the highlights of my trip.
For those of you that have done the 5K, can you walk it? There is no way i could run it but I could try to walk it

Wondering if that is allowed?
Absolutely! There were walkers in the 5k but they also have a powerwalk that began right after the 5k on our cruise.
Just got off the Fantasy on Sat (Feb 9th)...

Had SO much fun that I just had to book again for Feb 8th 2014. I will be sailing along with my three daughters who will be 20, 17, and 15 at the time of sailing.
Also traveling with my brother, his wife and daughter who will also be 15.
What was the weather like in February? We've never cruise in February so I'm a little worried about the weather. I'm a Floridian now.
I'm confused by the 2 FB pages but joined both.
I have a question about the FE exchage group. Does it ever get split into 2 groups if the group gets too large? I am already planning and stocking up on some gifts (Valentine's cruise so hitting the clearance!!) and was just trying to estimate how much to buy? I know there is no way of knowing how many staterooms to plan for this early, just curious!! This darn snow in Florida makes me wish it was already next year, cruise time!!!
I'm a little concerned about this as well. My FE group had 35 and it was a little overwhelming. It was closed out 2 weeks before but the last week before it closed out 11 families joined. I was scrambling.
Better not be snow in Florida
It has snowed in Florida in recent years! During the WDW Marathon in 2010, it snowed at the start. The water stops were iced over. It was absolutely miserable weather. If I hadn't earned the Goofy medal, I would've been bah-humbugging the entire experience.
2014!!!

My son and I have not ever been to either
Disneyland or Disneyworld! We are planning to do Seaworld the day before the cruise.
From what I've heard, if you only have one day, it's not worth going to WDW because there is too much to do and it's overwhelming. Anyone have an opinion on that????
It all depends on what you want to get out of it. Another poster gave you great advice. I personally would stay at Disney if I was on property. There's a ton of stuff to do without hitting a park (Boardwalk - bike rides, miniature golf, boating; Downtown Disney - shopping, restaurants, shows, bowling)
I ran a half marathon this past weekend and I don't know what came over me, but I just signed up for my first full marathon!

It is the TCM Marathon in Minneapolis/St. Paul and it is October 6. Please wish me luck on this endeavor!
Congratulations on your 1/2 marathon finish and registering for a full! I see a runDisney event in your future!
