February 8th 2014 Disney Fantasy Eastern Caribbean Cruise Meet

Good morning!

Haven't been on for awhile, so thought I'd stop in and say hi!

We are currently on spring break vacation in the very south of Texas/South Padre island......what a nice change from the 9 degrees in Colorado Springs ugh :cold:

We haven't even started looking at excursions yet. We are excited though since this is our first eastern! After the same ole same ole with 4 westerns, we are looking forward to a change! We will definitely do the parasailing at Castaway Cay...it's a must each and every time! Haha

We love absolutely everything about Castaway Cay, but hate that it's on Friday. It means the cruise is over, so getting on that island is both exciting and sad. :( In 2008, we did a double dip Christmas cruise, and it was fantastic!!!!

I vote for cupids of the Caribbean. It's perfect! Morgan can't wait to make t-shirts! As soon as we decide on a design, Morgan will be ready to create!

I know I had signed us up for everything on the spreadsheet, and since I don't do facebook, I will have to have Morgan update it on FB.

Shannon

Hi Shannon,

Since you had said to add you to the lists that I had for everything before it got added to FB, I went ahead and added you to everything accept the mixology there. I transferred everyone I had on the lists.

But I didn't know your daughters names or if they were doing some of these things too. I think the mixology and Ladies only are the only adult only things we have. So I think I just put DD's after your name. Maybe Morgan can fix that for you and add the names of your kids to events they may want to do too.

Soon we will need to pick a place and time for these events and be specific for what they entail. I am getting excited about them.:yay::yay::yay:

Kathy

Heidi,
How's the running going this week?

Hope you've added a bit more distance to your run.:thumbsup2

Kathy

Kathy,

It has been going pretty well. Thanks for asking! I am in a training group, so we all get together early on Saturday mornings to do our long run for the week. This week will be 10 miles-double digits! We have about seven and a half weeks to go until the race, so this training group is really keeping me on track.

The 5K at Castaway Cay sounds like fun. Maybe it will keep me motivated to keep on running after I finish my half marathon endeavor!

Sounds like the training is going well. Maybe next year you will do a full marathon?
Running with others is the way to go, everyone can keep each other motivated.

If you do the 5K it is free and your the first guests off the ship so you see the island before it gets full of people. ;) By the finish of the race people will be on the island. I have seen entire families running together which I thought was very nice.

We have posted a bit about finding a name for our group.

On page 17 I mentioned that people on FB had come up with 2 ideas.
Now they have combined the two ideas for your considerations.

2014 Cupids In The Caribbean

We need some feedback from everyone. What do you think of this name, do you have any ideas to offer?

Please speak up, this name is for everyone so we really need some opinions.

I like their suggestion and I am a blank as to a different name to submit for comments myself but some of you might have some ideas?

Kathy

I love the group name!!

Rick and I definitely want to join in on the mixology so I'll have Morgan add us to that one as well. We want to be involved in EVERYTHING this time around hahaha

Shannon

So excited to be joining all of you! We booked this cruise while we were on the Fantasy this February. We enjoyed the Eastern so much that we decided to do it again. We would love to join in on the FE fun. Traveling in our cabin will be Betsy (me!), DH Rob, DS Gannon (16) and DD Emma (12). Gannon will turn 16 six days before we sail so we will be celebrating! We are also bringing the grandmas along for the ride this time. I think that they will want to do FEs also but I will confirm and update later. This will be our 6th Disney cruise and we have loved each one a little more than the last;

Just catching up on life and the page.
I like the name you all came up with. :thumbsup2
My family and I talked another family member in to going - so we had to make a little change; but we're all good and ready to sail, All 6 of us now! It will be a great time. Now on to looking for a steal of a deal on airfare between now and then.
I've got to get the graphic designer to design my artwork for the FE and get that ordered up too.
Woot woot... the planning never ends!
Hope all is well.

:cheer2:And, if people want Wrist Bands... yall need to make sure you order up - in order to make it cost effective (with a custom mold) it would be nice to have 150-200 or so bands ordered. Cost is between $1-2.00 :cheer2:

The sign up sheet for wrist bands is on the FB page for those interested. If you don't do FB just give me or Fathawkeye a holler and we can add you to the list!!!

WELCOME!!! :grouphug:

We have a FB page where you can sign up for the FE, plus several other events. If you check page 1, post 1 there is info on joining it.

Please check out all the other fun things to do while your there. They are listed across the bottom of the page on the link for them on FB.

There is a group meet, a ladies only meet, a scrapbooking meet, a mixology meet, a sign up to order matching wrist bands so we can recognize each other on the ship.

Also a place to sign up for matching t-shirts. we are not ordering them, we are going to decide on a Disney themed picture and everyone will print them off on iron on transfer paper and put them on their own t-shirts, tank tops and wear the first day. Its way cheaper that way and everyone knows they have the right size shirt.

If someone doesn't have a printer we will print it off for them if they pay for the iron on paper and a few cents for ink. That way everyone who wants to do it can do it.

There is, pin trading meet and a valentine recipe exchange.

Everything but mixology and ladies only is for the entire family. Please sign up for anything that interests you. if you change your mind later, you can always remove your names.

Place and times yet to be determined accept it will be on sea days.

If you don't do FB just let me know and I will be happy to sign you and your family up for anything your interested in.

Looking forward to chatting with you while waiting for this awesome cruise!!

If you have any questions about any of the meets, please ask.

Kathy

Question of the day:

What type of souvenirs do you usually buy on vacations?

My answer: Magnets
Greg: Billed Caps

Unfortunately, we usually let the kids buy stuffed animals.
I already know what I am buying on the cruise. I love Tervis Tumblers and I will be getting all 3 designs of the cruise exclusive cups.

Question of the day:

What type of souvenirs do you usually buy on vacations?

I usually like to get magnets. I enjoy when I can find a jigsaw puzzle that pertains to our destination. I also like Christmas tree ornaments.

Stu usually ends up with a shirt of some sort or a hat.

The girls are pretty varied in their choices, but many times it ends up being a stuffed animal or some other toy.

Morgan....everything she can get her hands on!!!!
Mitchell....goofy looking hats

We just got back from our mini vacation to south Texas and it's just too cold here in Colorado Springs ugh :cold: I was born to be on an eternal vacation...travelling to warm and exotic places haha

I don't know if we're still suggesting names but DH suggested "Love at First Dock" to me and I thought I'd share.

Thanks,
Lisa

I usually end up with a magnet or two. And I pick out t shirts for all of my neices and nephews. My daughter picks something from the ships gift shop - usually a stuffed animal or some sort of toy.

I am considering a DCL Dooney - have to see if I want one when I see them in person :thumbsup2
