We started our cruise with a few days at WDW. I knew the trip was going to be off on a good start when
we got to the Phoenix Airport and our upgrades came through so we got more comfortable seats on this trip!

We stayed at one of the monorail hotels because I dont like dealing with the WDW busses...

We dropped off the bags and got right upstairs to get on the monorail

We just have to remember it all started with a mouse:

And you cannot miss the Jungle Cruise butterflies. The ones with the wingspan
from 12 inches to a whopping.......... one foot!

Then it came time to leave and you have to figure a way out of there..... theres always MY WAY...

Grabbed a Budget rental headed off to the port! Got a room at Country Inn and Suites.

In case you wanted to know how the kids suite rooms were set up here is the inside of the kids area:

and to the right is another bed:

And looking past the adults bed you can see the kids partition on the right:

The shuttle launch didnt happen, but I did get to watch a bunch of freezing people standing in the field waiting for it to go....

Up in the AM, grabbed breakfast (included and pretty good!) and returned the minivan to Budget. Got right on the shuttle to the port and met the most unfriendly shuttle driver I have ever had the displeasure to meet. Even the other family on with us made the same comment about the drivers grumpiness.

At the DCL terminal they have moved the checkin area back with the construction going on:

The porter took my luggage at about 9:30 (with a monetary thanks from me) and we got thru the gate to the terminal at about 9:45.

You can see where you now enter and the construction going on to expand the terminal. You can see holes where the footers are going to be. The terminal is being pushed out to there, and there is going to be a walkway from the new parking garage to the port as well.

As we left the port, we had to wave to the freezing people who came out to Jetty PArk to see us off:

After the usual boarding and start of our eating every hour, we got into out room. I was GLAD that they FINALLY figured a
way to keep the door to the bedroom from sliding open and closed with the ships motion (definately needed this trip!).

There was one of the little triangle shaped wooden blocks there on our last trip.

The first night was pretty rough, but the last storm that went thru prevented the last cruisers from making it to
Castaway Cay. I was hoping that we wouldnt suffer the same fate.

As we were approaching Nassau I got this photo:

Apparently they are displaying a show of force to combat the recent bad press from the tourist robberies

We got a few visitors that evening off our verandah:

That night we went to the Walt Disney theater to see the Toy Story show it was challenging to keep
up with the lighting changes in the dark!:

The next morning we got to my favorite island!

cc1.jpg

We grabbed breakfast at Beach Blanket Buffet and made our way down to Deck one. When the elevator opened we sat on the steps at were going to wait until we got onto the island. I got a surprise when the ships Security Officer came up to us and said we were going to be the first off the ship! We got to watch as items were scanned on the X-Ray machine and one of the kids got to scan us off the ship! We got a 5 minute head start before they let anyone else off the ship!

first.jpg

Ever wonder what happens when they scan your card?... Now you know! There were 2654 guests, 932 crew and 2 visitors
on this trip.....I covered the names column with the blue box

Got here, and still nobody behind me!

cc2.jpg

It amazes me how they keep this beach sand clean and groomed!

cc4.jpg

But then they always make you leave!... Time to get back to the ship (walking very slowly!)

cc3.jpg

When we got back to the cabin, I looked down and saw they were running a lifeboat around:

Got a look at the cabanas on the far side of the beach as we got ready to leave the island..
