February 2025 - best days/week?

I know this gets asked all the time but I’m planning a trip for just my husband and I and I did not find much info for Feb. We haven’t gone without kids in over 20 years but it’s always been our go to vacation. We were last there as a family in December. We are thinking of going in early February since one of our priorities is seeing Haunted non-holiday. Our last several trips have been Halloween or Christmas season. I know there will be Sweetheart nights and judging from past years they are usually Tu/Th. So what 3 days during the week would you choose to go? We most likely will not do a party. I would usually do mid week but don’t want 2 party days cutting our night short. Has anyone gone in Feb recently? What days or week did you find the least crowded? I know it’s all a guessing game these days but just looking for thoughts and experiences.

You need to look at two primary things when trying to figure out what days will be "less" crowded.

First, look at the single day ticket pricing calendar, which can be found here: https://disneyland.disney.go.com/admission/tickets/ (select standard tickets, one day, one park per day). This is just a guide, not to actually book tickets. February is not yet available, but will be soon. Below is a screenshot of January. Note the weekdays have lower prices than the weekends once the holidays end. These days, especially the $104 price days will be insanely crowded. There's a decent chance DL will also offer a ticket promo, which would also be valid on weekdays, further amplifying the crowds.

The second thing you need to look at is the Magic Key (annual pass) block out calendar, which can be found here: https://disneyland.disney.go.com/passes/blockout-dates/ (click on each type of pass to see block out dates, with Inspire having almost no block outs on the left and more block outs for passes to the right).

Here's the Believe Key availability for February (the second highest pass):

Choose the days with the most passes blocked out.

In this case, the weekend of February 14-17 will be best, which is President's Day weekend. The most passes are blocked and the single day ticket prices are highest. This leads to lower crowds for multiday ticket holders, which have the same price per day regardless of date.

Yes, I know it's weird to say weekends and holidays will be less crowded, but it is objectively true based on the past several years of attendance. In addition to less people, Disney has the most rides open, the most entertainment showing (nighttime and daytime), and longer park hours, and more staffing. This disperses the crowds that are there much better. Do not sleep on the impact of high staffing levels and entertainment to give people more things to do.

If you go during the week, prepare for extreme crowding.

I also want to put into perspective what "crowded" is because it's subjective. It is always crowded at DL. You might go over the holiday weekend and think it's insanely crowded, but I promise you it will be less crowded than during the week. The goal is not to find "light" crowds, which basically don't exist, but the most manageable level of crowds based on today's higher overall attendance.

For example, I went over July 4th this year. The crowds were delightfully mild the entire weekend. Someone else might go and say, wow it's so crowded. I can assure you from having visited regularly for the past 30 years, it was not crowded by modern standards.

Good luck and have a great trip!

Thank you so much for the great info. We went W-F the second week of Dec and crowds were great to start and got worse on F. Still manageable though. We’ve gone a couple times during Oct fall break so we are used to pretty crowded. So anything less than that is good. 😁 The worse crowds were Veterans weekend a few years ago. So I understand it’s so hit or miss and no guarantees. I will definitely look at the pricing calendar when it releases for Feb to help narrow down. Thanks again!

You're welcome! You're correct, it's more complex than I outlined. Friday nights get very crowded when passholders are unblocked, particularly the two lowest levels. Weekends can also get slammed when at least one of the two lowest level passes are unblocked, regardless of single day ticket prices.

The sweet spot is a holiday period when there's high single day ticket prices AND the bottom 2-3 levels of passes are blocked. This is one of the reasons I love going in July - the two lowest passes are blocked all month and the single day ticket prices are high.

You will have a great time no matter when you go, crowds or not!

I would avoid the week of 2/17-2/21. Many schools in NorCal and other states have that week off (mid-winter break/ski week). We’ve done it several times and it was always very busy.

I would also avoid February 1st and 2nd because that is the Disneyland half marathon weekend so hotels will be super busy with runners and so will the parks. I think the parks even open an hour later on those days to accommodate the races

Hi all, I wanted to bump this thread and piggyback on OP's question with a more detailed date range to ask about crowd levels. We have 2 day hoppers and can visit either:

Feb 13 & 14
or
Feb 15 & 16

Based on @OlliePop27 breakdown above, it looks like Feb 15 & 16 will be better because passes are blocked off on Feb 15 and bottom two also blocked off Feb 16? Even though that's Presidents Day holiday weekend??

Also, does anyone have thoughts as to how Lunar New Year and/or Sweethearts Nite might factor in?

The 15th and 16th are priced at the new highest single day ticket price of $206. Also, as you noted, the three lowest passes are blocked on the 15th and the two lowest on the 16th.

I think those are the winners.

I want to be clear - it will still be crowded. It just won't be AS crowded as the 13-14.
