Catching up. Lots going on, sending out virtual hugs.

Got home Friday and spent Friday evening and most of Saturday working on the office. Have another trunk load of stuff to drop off at GW and it feels like there is still so much stuff. So many unfinished projects and projects that’ll never happen.

I decided I don’t like the paint that I got, so my goal for today is to get the new curtain rods and curtains up and get everything cleaned up ready for getting back to work tomorrow. Other than that, self care today is to do some shopping. After clearing out clothing, I now need to find a few tops with good necklines for video meetings. I also need to get a whiteboard, notebooks and sticky pads for work.
 
We watched Raya & the last dragon this am with kids and all enjoyed it. Just did pic for my kiddo- she placed 2nd last night 🎊 out of 73 for debate. I’m going to put in a grocery order & just tidy up for a good weeks start. Enjoy the slower pace & everyone home.

What’s your motivation as we begin another week?
My husband found out his cholesterol is high and needs to change his diet. So we spent about 3 hours this weekend working on a meal plan for him and one for me. It’s nice to be going through this together now. Our fridge has never had so many fruits and veggies!

I also joined a 5 Day Sugar Detox Beachbody group. So no added sugar for me this week. As I was meal planning and prepping, I realized that I’ve actually been doing pretty well with that aside from my “emergency“ chocolate and protein bar.

When people on my WW chat group ask how to break sugar/sweet cravings, I see other people suggest this. When I started WW I cut out most processed and added sugar foods. I think if I had just substituted sweets made with cake mixes and Diet Coke (for example) I wouldn’t have been able to finally get control over my eating habits. I wish I had known about a program like the Detox.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday... relaxing & recharging. What does self care look like for you today?

I did much the same yesterday as I did Saturday. I got up and got my workout in and then watched tv the rest of the day. I did make dinner though. Yesterday I watched more TV shows with DH and DS. I did watch Godmothered though. I really liked it.

I feel awful today, much worse than yesterday...entire arm is in severe pain, along with a terrible headache. I'm taking a sick day tomorrow, because there's no way I can teach like this.

Self-care is pain management and rest.

I hope you feel better. I had the arm pain too. It was bad. My headache though was not too bad but I had been dealing with them for about a week prior. I got mine on a Wednesday and by the weekend I was feeling much better.
 
I'm home today...beginning to feel better. The headache is still there, but my arm is improving. If I had a less demanding job, I may have been able to work...but with this rambunctious and challenging group, there's no way I could handle them with my head pounding like this.

My motivation is last week's 2.5 pound weight loss. If I could lose that much weekly, I will be on track to reach my goal more quickly.
 
My motivation this week... I’ve done well with the adjustments I’ve made so planning on continuing to tweak. This week working on lowering carbs a bit more.
With the ADHD I’m kind of in the “is it real or something I’ve made up” phase. I’m doing really well with limiting must do’s to max three per day which is giving me doubts, is it a really effective strategy or am I not really ADHD? It is probably part of a normal acceptance cycle to be having these thoughts.
My home internet is out and the tech won’t come till this afternoon, so I am only half working, monitoring what I can from my phone and calling in for meetings. It is kind of a discombobulating start to getting back to work.

I think we all fall on a huge spectrum somewhere with things like ADHD, autism, etc. There is a line that you cross, and all of a sudden you officially “have” something, but if you’re close to that line, you can absolutely benefit from some of the same strategies that people with a diagnosis use. - If the three To-Do Items thing is working for you, keep doing it!
 
I got a really good long walk in w my 🐾 I’m about ready to commit to the big workout push. I despise running but I need to do it for my body to shed the weight. This will be about the 5th time I’ve done my weight loss shake down & it’s time... my joints are aching, overall tired, sleep issues. Our dis trip this summer is a perfect goal timeframe + it would be great to be back in shape for our anniversary.
