We were thinking April 2015. But now we're thinking February. Any thoughts??

We personally, love February---it's one of the months we visit the Resort in every year!

Keep in mind that Park hours will be shorter, there might be a few refurbs, and the weather is usually cooler(and might be a bit rainy). None of these bother us in the least!

We like going in late February, to avoid the coming Spring Break crowds. Of course, we wouldn't mind going in April either, if it were after Easter(which we've done a few times)!:)

We did Feb 2012 and it was PERFECT! The weather was beautiful (jeans and t-shirts or light sweat shirts) and the lines were totally manageable. We even had nice enough weather to spend a day at the pool at the hotel.

We've done February before and quite enjoyed it. Had one or two days with POURING rain, but we just opted to use our pass for a different day. The weather wasn't comfortable (light sweaters and pants) and the park wasn't too crowded :)

We did Presidents' Week in 2008 and 2014. I quite liked it.

The negatives I saw are as follows:

* More attractions closed for refurbishment
* Greater chance of rain
* Shorter hours
* More crowded during Presidents' week than the rest of the month

The positives I saw are follows

* Parks tend to be significantly less crowded than during spring break or summer
* Not HOT
* Hours are longer during Presidents' Week than other times in February (Generally 9-9 rather than 10-8)
* Hotels are waaay cheaper. In Feb 2014 we stayed at Desert Inn & Suites in a deluxe (regular) room for SIXTY-NINE dollars a night Sunday-Thursday and $89/night for Friday/Saturday.
* It's FUN to travel to a place with warmer weather in February.

Have fun!!!

We originally picked February. Then a few reasons made us switch to April. But now I want to maybe switch back. The reasons we switched to April were because we're worried our son may be delayed with walking (though now we're thinking maybe not.) And also because we're worried too many dark rides will be closed. This is our son's first trip so we're hoping our favorites are open.

Will the Haunted Mansion and IASW be reopened by early February? We're thinking the 3rd-9th.

It looks like the Desert Inn (where we plan to stay) will most likely be cheaper in February so that's a big reason we want to switch back. And also because we hate hot weather.

This year, Haunted Mansion was reopened just after mid Jan.---so you'd be fine on that one, but It's A Small World was reopened Feb. 8th, so it might be a close call for that!

We also like going in February because the weather is cooler---We hate hot as well!::yes::

We went Feb 2013 and we plan to go again Feb 2015. :cool1: It was great, although the hours are shorter so the lines at opening are longer, and on Friday night it got SO packed from annual pass holders. Most of the time though it was very manageable. :goodvibes

There's usually a Dapper Day in Feb, which means killer rates at the DLR hotels! But also, a bit more crowded as the Dapper Days are getting super popular (and SO fun!)

When does Dapper Day usually happen?

I decided to just book a hotel for February 3rd-11th since it has free cancellation. I don't think I've ever booked a hotel this far in advance before!

I don't mind the shorter hours since we'll have a toddler. And it really kind of evens out since the crowds aren't as bad. You can still get a decent amount of rides in typically. At least that's been my experience in the past. So I'm not worried about the hours.

Though I do hope a million things aren't closed for refurbishment.

It's the refurbs that will kill you in Feb. Although this year, the refurbs stretched throughout the entire spring. So if all those rides are down, you might as well go when it's not that crowded.

I hope a bunch of rides aren't down. I don't care if the water rides are since we don't typically go on those anyway. But I worry about the dark rides.

I know that after Summer, they are supposed to start sprucing them up for the 60th. Anyone know when things should be reopened?? Or if they are doing one dark ride at a time or what?

In Feb. 2008 the refurbishments that made me sad were Jungle Cruise and it's a small world.

In Feb. 2014 the refurbishments that made me sad were it's a small world, Splash Mountain, and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

It's a bummer, no doubt. But if you expect it, things are easier. There's just so much fabulousness to Disneyland that in the big picture, it's not a big deal.

And now, next time we go, my daughter will have a big first!! She may not LOVE Small World, I don't know... But it will be new to her, and that will be special!!
