I love the vibe. The first time I went we also went to St. Thomas. St. Thomas felt very touristy and very American (you could see a McDonald's right when you got off the ship. Tortola felt more authentic to me, which is what I like when I travel. Yes, they still have the high-end shops and tourist traps, but right off the main pier area you can also find smaller spots where you can chat with locals.
I've also done a zipline excursion in Tortola twice, and it's been a lot of fun. The views you get of the island (and the ship) are awesome!
I have been hearing from others that the port at San Juan is damaged and that are cruise lines have been canceling San Juan. I am not sure if this will affect the Treasure or not, but another site I am on claims it might. Has any one heard anything?
