It's been a while-- once school and kids summer bdays are over I will work on the FE list---- and good news my Sis and her family are cruisers now!!!-- here's the info- but I told them about the site- hopefully they join....

if you could give us some rough idea of how many adults, boys a,d girls want to do FE so we can keep an eye out for whatever we might want to buy or make...

I implied by your message that there won't be much FE activity until the end of summer...after the BD's. Sometimes there is good stuff to buy in the warm months which isn't available in the winter

I agree- I have already found some fun summer stuff that might as well be Cruise FE stuff!!!-- so I will get the list together asap!!! now again-- first DC first crusie ever for me!!!!-- so what do I do? Just go down the guests and make a list of all the kids and incluse gender and ages???? I guess I'll include every child and then if someone does not want to participate they will let us know??

Denise: Yesterday I posted a lengthy reply but my computer hiccuped and it is not here.....so:


Post only the relevant info regarding participants as listed in the previous posts...this is tedious BUT it should save some confusion

you might need 2 lists....one for adults participating, one for the kids.

You will need to include room #'s eventually on the list so save a space for that info

here is mine....1 child ONLY participating in FE...age 6 when cruising....room # 5518

you probably won't need to update this list very often since there is VERY low volume of posts on this meet thread....not much enthusiasm here...I know its far away but once school starts then its the holidays then we leave....POOF! time all gone

Further, you need to set a cut-off date so we don't have to run around last minute buying/making stuff for the FE stragglers....I suggest Jan14, 2011.....anybody else?????!!!!

Hi everyone!

Sorry for being MIA for so long! We just finished a 5 week kitchen remodeling project & my kids are finishing school this week & next. I have had no time to come online and peruse the boards like I used to

Hope you are all doing well & I am so excited for the cruise We are going down to WDW in August, so I'm also looking forward to getting my Mickey fix in about 8 weeks

As far as the FE list, this is our first Disney cruise (but my DH & I have been on 2 cruises prior). Our kids will only be participating in the FE swap.

Looking forward to chatting more often from now on!

I have not had a chance to read through the entire thread...so I hope it's ok for us to join in...

It will be my self, Jhoanna, and my husband Sammy on this cruise. We are both teachers and are just as happy as the kids (if not more ) to have this break in February!

Can't believe we are at less than 250 days. This post was started when there was over 500 days left to the cruise. I know I'm fixated on how fast time is ticking down.
The boys, including myself, aren't getting a Mickey fix until this cruise, so we're waiting with great anticipation!
We are DVC members but banked our points for the cruise.

Bill- I'm all for a deadline, a month or so before the cruise sounds good to me.

anyhow, Maronvin: I haven't been to DW or ANYTHING for 5 years now....time and money has eliminated any trips like that....
wanted to book a shorter cruise with DW BUT was afraid the DREAM wouldn't be on schedule (I know...I read the promises) and it was Presidents' Week or no week......

I will be watching the presentation for DVC tonite on the puter.....I imagine I won't do anything about it but I AM interested

Bill,
We joined DVC in 2002 and have no regrets, it has already paid for itself. I have been told that the best deals are on the cruise so if you have the time I'd sit down with them in February. We actually sold last year's points on the WDWINFO website and used it to pay for a trip we're going on to Beaches in Turks at the end of the month, so getting rid of points you can't use isn't a problem.

any suggestions on a hotel to stay at with a shuttle to port?

looking forward to the cruise and our first FE experience...any ideas yet as to how many we will have ?

We will be on this cruise! It's our 1st cruise ever & it was a no brainer that we would go w/DCL. We are from the Chicago area, something different from all the NY'er's & MA folks here. Our older DS has 2 days off of school that week so he won't miss a full week. It will be DH, me, & our 2 DS's (5 yrs & 2 yrs).
We choose not to participate in the FE exchange, if that's okay.

As far as excursions, this is what I am thinking at this point:

Key West - aquarium & butterfly conservatory (my boys love animals so this is a definite)

Cozumel - semi sub ride (we did this in Turks & Caicos & it was the highlight of our trip)

Grand Cayman - Boatswain's marine park (again animals)

CC - hang out on the beach

I would love to do the dolphin swim, but no one else in my family will join me. So maybe some other time.
If we enjoy the cruise (by this I mean if DH enjoys it)(fingers crossed!), then we will be rebooking on board to cruise again in 2012.

ok- so in btwn Bdays, Grads, Vacas, and the rest of the summer craziness- I have locked myself in my cool basement on this 100 degree day!!!!!!!!

Here is a tenative list of what we have so far:-- keep in mind I will add rm numbers as I get them. Please let me know what else needs to be included-- again first cruise, first FE- so I need help!!!--I still need names from some of you.....Also it looks like the majority wants only a kids FE- am I correct???-- also what is the age cut off for kids? 16?? 18 ?
