February 13, 2011 - 7 Night Mexican Riviera Sailing on the Wonder

For all of you in cold weather, I have been working hard trying to change the weather forecaset for Sunday in LA.

Looks like I was able to push the rain off until later next week :)

So for Sunday, partly sunny skies are in the forecast, TV weather shows 75 degrees on Saturday, and the internet shows only 68 degrees...So my forecast for Sunday is mostly sunny, about 70 degrees :)

Looks like we will have beautiful weather in Cabo and PV, full sunshine, high 79-80 degrees...anyone getting excited and having trouble focusing this week?

Hate to pop in uninvited but DW & I could use a huge favor. We had a server on the Wonder named Mladen from Bosnia or Serbia (don't know why I can never remember and none of our pictures is good enough to tell) that we absolutely loved. We would be very grateful if someone could sniff around and see if he's still on the Wonder or if he's moved to another ship...the Dream hopefully as we're going on her later this year.

Thank you to anyone who can be of assistance. :goodvibes

Thank you for the referral to Safe Ride Transport. They are offering the best deal that we could find. As with you, we are getting a Private Van that seats 9 people, we have 8 (4 adults and 4 kids ages 5, 4, 2, and 1). Here are the details we got today

LAX to disneyland hotel: $110.00
Disneyland Hotel to Port: $90.00
Port to LAX: $90.00

We need car seats for all four of our kids which is usually $5.00 per seat, they are giving us all four seats for $10.00 total on each trip, which are not added in the total above.

If you are interested, call Eina at 310-868-4730 (her direct line) and mention that you were referred by someone on DISboards.

One more thing checked off my To do list.

I have been pretty happy with these people and they have been reasonable. 3 more sleeps and then we will be in CA!

Thank you Quimby. We were to get a huge winter storm on Thursday that would have put our flight out into question on Friday, but the storm suddenly turned south. I look forward to sunny LA on Friday! I cannot wait!

O.K we are leaving for the airport at 5 am Thursday morning so tomorrow is the last day to be organized.

Just to be sure I have it clear. DIS meet: Diversions at 3pm. Get updated FE info?

TaniaU is the FE list updated? Should I print the one up right now?
Looks like there are lots of rooms available still...upgrades should be there for the taking :) Do you think people didn't want to set sail on the 13th? It never crossed my mind until our sailing seemed to have so many rooms available.

I have all my FE stuff packed and seriously it took a whole suitcase.
I think I will deliver adult gifts early and kids gifts a few days in. I'll wing it ;)

See you all on-board,

Dana

Yep, all up to date.

Have a good flight!

I'm definitely having trouble focusing this week because I'm so excited:banana: My job seems to always know when I'm about to go on vacation and they have absolutely piled me with work that they say has to be done before I leave. Well, I am taking off on Friday to pack and I am off midday on Thursday to see one of my daughters get an award at school (she is so excited about getting this award:yay:) so I am under constant stress to get all of this work done before I leave. I am just going to do what I can and they will have to survive without me. I have been waiting over a year for this vacation and I'm not going to think about work for even one second while I am on this cruise. The good thing about cruises is that there is really no easy, or inexpensive, way to contact me so I won't be getting any calls for work on this vacation. On my last vacation with my daughters in Disneyworld they called me every day on my cellphone with what they deemed were "emergencies" - almost ruined my vacation. I am really glad that the weather seems to be cooperating now and I don't foresee any problems with my flight out of Richmond, VA. being delayed or canceled. I forgot to look at weather on Sunday in Atlanta, GA. That is where I have a connecting flight. I will look today and hope that there are no snow storms anticipated in Atlanta this weekend.

Weather is looking very good - nice and calm - across most of the US this weekend, so we should be able to travel with little or no weather related problems (knock on wood). I was so worried too with all the issues we had with weather and flights so far this winter. Now I just need to hope our luggage makes it. We have a direct flight to LA from Cincinnati, but you never know what the luggage gnomes seem to do with it at times.

And now even rain that was forecasted originally for LA on Sat and Sun, is gone and the forecasted temps keep going up! I am starting to feel it. A year's worth of planning and waiting coming together - at least on the weather front.

There was discussion about having a white board to write on if people change rooms and not everyone makes it to the dis meet. Will there be a place we can update room numbers?

Drop by our room, 2052. I'll have something :)

We are making our final preparations, too...we leave Friday afternoon. We'll be at the Grand Californian Friday and Saturday nights. Park warriors at Disneyland Saturday and have a ADR for Blue Bayou for lunch! We're taking Disney transport to the port.

Can't wait to see everyone...safe travels to all.

Shopping done, now packaging them tonight. See you guys real soon!!!!!!
We will be at Diversions at 3:00pm.

I hear ya on the shopping, finished mine up last night and have to run out at lunch today to get labels.

I think I'm going to deliver our stuff later in the week, with maybe a little something on Valentines day...depends on if Jet wants to part with the cards that we bought for his class. (Turns out they're not doing valentines this year...I'm glad we're away and don't have to deal with it.)

And...I finally finished sewing our Fish Extender(s) last night (made extra for my mom, dad and sister). Crafty Tania has left the building for the year.

Everyone have save travels to LA !!!

Let's hope the kinks are worked out on the Wonder and that the staff is running on all cylinders.

One more question about lanyards. I have lanyards for out KKTW(is that what they are) cards, but they don't have plastic pouches, just clips. Can we punch holes in the card to attach them? Will Disney do that or do I need to bring a hole punch?

Safe travels...we'll be at the pool on Sunday afternoon :)

Hey Everyone!

I can't believe the cruise is almost here:banana: It felt so good when I left work yesterday knowing I wouldn't be back for 11 days. As always, right before a vacation a crisis at work came up and I had to work my regular shift on Wednesday and then go back and work another 4 hours that night to meet a deadline imposed on my agency at the last minute. I was at work until 9:00 p.m. at night :scared1: My daughters were all in bed when I got home and I missed tucking them in:headache:. Well, at least I know I can't be reached on a cruise. Whenever I vacation at Disneyworld, I am always getting emergency work calls interupting my vacation. I'm packing today and I know it will take me 4-5 hours because I am paranoid I will forget something or not bring something I need . I'm excited though because packing means the start of the vacation is close. We had half an inch of unexpected snow yesterday which freaked me out because I don't want snow delaying my flight out of Richmond on Sunday but the forcast still says sunny and in the 50s that day. Atlanta looks good to for Sunday. I have a connecting flight out of there. The last weather reports show party sunny and temperature highs of 74 for Sunday in LA. - perfect weather for the "Sail Away" Party. I'm planning on being at Diversions at 3:00 p.m. unless something unforeseen prevents it. Hope to see some of you there.:goodvibes

Hang in there, Pam...you'll make it! We're leaving in an hour...so looking forward to meeting you...see you at Diversions and dinner!

I'm about 1 hr. north of LAX...so beautiful, sun is shining. :)
You all will have great weather for Disneyland.

I am dreading the packing tomorrow but so excited for Sunday...

Safe Travels

I'm getting a little anxious over the packing too, but I'll try and get as much as I can done tonight so that it's easy to do any last minute stuff before we fly out tomorrow.

Work is went crazy for me too, out of the 8 hours I'm here today 6 of them are in meetings. Just what I want to do right before vacation :) It is making the day go by faster so at least there's that.

Have just considered telling my husband that he can only pack one change of clothes because we need the space for the FE gifts :)
