So here's a question. Obviously stuff fills up for the major school vacations. Some places faster than others. I'm partial to the Tree House Villas, we are staying this year the week before President's day so it wasn't too tough to book. But next year my son is in kindergarten and we'll have to go the week everybody is off from school. I've got a calendar appointment for 1 month before every president's day weekend for the next 10 years. but here is my question: we plan to go Saturday to Saturday, but I'm sure there are people that go Friday to Saturday. If I waited until I could book that Saturday to Saturday at the exact 11 month mark, am I going to be shut out because 60 people booked all the THV's for Friday?

You might be shut out if 30 people booked on Friday. Not all 60 have been declared into DVC inventory yet.

ok, that's good to know, but is there anybody who could tell me how early they booked the Saturday to Saturday for Feb vacation. I'm willing and able to do it at the 11 month mark at 9:00 am but is that enough?

If you are worried about the people booking for the Friday to Friday, walk your reservation one day. Book it Friday to Friday, then call the next day and drop the first day and add one more day.

So do people frown on such behavior or do you just have to do what you gotta do?

There were reports when DVC changed from booking by the end of your stay to the beginning of your stay that MS advised people do walk a reservation.

Yes. Some do frown on it. But, you are not booking their vacations. You are booking yours. As long as you are booking within the rules that everyone must play by, then you are fine.

So I have a question about the walking....

Can't one just book the Friday to Saturday the first time, and then later cancel the Friday?

instead of booking Friday to Friday, then calling the next day to drop the Friday and book Saturday to Saturday? Is there a maximum # of days one can book at the 11 month window?

Sorry for the newbie question.

Yes, You can only book 7 nights at your 11 month window (or any time for that matter).

I was actually told about walking my a member services rep. I wanted a specific date, but did have wiggle room. The MS rep gave us the available days then told me when to call to move it up to the days we wanted.

Is there a chance your child can miss a week of school in kindergarten?
Probably a lot less crowded.
Good luck in your reservation....can't wait to try THV.
