What luck!! I am soo happy now I have to find cheap airfare!! any ideas!! flying from milwaukee!
Southwest out of Midway has some good pricing for your dates, a little bit of a drive but it may be worth it.

dh and i are contemplating leaving tonight and staying in a hotel. it is a 3hour drive from northern indiana. they are saying heavy snow starting around 4:00 our time (3:00 chicago time) and continuing until early afternoon. what to do, what to do. i called our guide from doorway to dreams and she gave me 2 hotels that are across the street from the mall. both quoted me $107 night. we don't want to miss it.:confused3

Southwest is at www.southwest.com. If you are planning on renting a car, don't rule out going into Tampa. It is a bit further, but it might save you a few bucks. I fly Southwest all the time, both for pleasure and business. Great, efficient operation.

Parking at Midway: Lots of folks like Midway Park-Ride-and-Fly, www.parkrideflyusa.com. From Milwaukee, take 94 and 294 south to I-55 East. Exit Central Avenue. At the exit turn right. Just after you come off the bridge, turn left onto 47th Street. It is on the left. They have very frequent shuttle service to the airport. I always tip the driver a couple of dollars. One thing that impressed me about this lot...my SIL travels a lot on business. When they drop her at her car, the driver always waits until she is in the car and the car has started.

awesome thanks for all the little tips on southwest!!! I will let my dh.. Take a look at it when he gets home from work!

DTD honestly unless you are going to add on points I wouldnt travel in the snow they keep showing chicago to milwaukee in the bulls eye! I know you dont want to miss out!.. Actually maybe I would go... You might have a better chance at winning the door prize!

By the way, we called the people at Doorway to Dreams because we're all sick, but want to add-on at tomorrow's show. They said, no problem, they'll offer these incentives all week and we can either come by or add-on on the phone. Apparently they were too busy to take care of it today? DH did the talking--he never inquires too much about these things. I'm still a little nervous about getting the right incentives. He did talk to two different people though who both confirmed it.

I'd like to go to the event but it's doubtful that we'll all be healthy enough. We haven't completely ruled it out though.

Does anyone know more details about the incentives?

What's the timeframe the exchange has to be used?

Is it a DVC resort that is deposited for these exchanges? That usually affects what you can exchange for ( a better resort like DVC should get some good trades.)

If it is a DVC resort that is deposited for the exchange, does that mean you can't exchange for another Florida resort? I think there's usually some kind of rule like that.
(We're more familiar with II exchanges--RCI is new to us.)

I know somewhere there are details about the cruise dates and upgrade fees for those of us with families of 5 or more. I'll have to find that.

Also, any information about the Adventures by Disney trip offered? Limited choices? How many people?

Seriously thinking about the BLT add on but will need to talk to the dw after the kids are in bed. Torn between 50 and 100 points, incentives with a reduction or no incentives and 5 grand less???

The SWA website is the only place to find their pricing online - they do NOT post any of their fares on the travel service sites like Expedia or Travelocity. And the really great thing about Southwest is if you have to cancel or change your plans - no fees to do so like the other carriers - you simply get travel credits to use up to 12 months from the original date of booking - just find another flight and apply those funds to the new purchase - make up the difference if there is one, and you're on your way.

Southwest = great rates, service and efficiency - oh yeah!!! I luv Southwest and use them all the time - just flew out of Midway back to Indy last week on SWA! :-)

The fact that Southwest refunds on price drops is one of the thing I like about them, I got back $120 x 6 passengers back on my March tickets to Disney. Which I applied to tickets to Vegas which has also dropped so I have another $265 credit for future travel. Things I don't like about SW, however, was the cattle call (which they have fixed, I haven't flown them since they changed the boarding procedures) and the fact that they fly out of Midway. O'Hare is considerably more convenient for me.

I'll be there tomorrow AM, snow or no snow. Not going to add on just get a llittle Disney fix before we head down next month. BTW last I heard there will only be 2-4" overnight with another 1-3" tomorrow. They usually do a pretty good job of clearing the roads of overnight snowfall.

I went to the presentation this evening. My guide informed me that the RCI exchange had to be used within 18 months. I am not real familiar with RCI and the process, but my guide said that our free week could be used for anything within the World Passport Collection.

The Adventures by Disney was for 2 people and yes the choices were limited. Many U.S. destinations were included. From what I recall the international destinations included the Italy's Amalfi Coast, Germany, Costa Rica, and maybe Peru? There were a few others as well, but I don't recall them all and did not note them.

OK, it's official. After this evening I am scared to death of the Wish Meister! :scared1: Those who were there tonight will completely understand...

I found him quite funny! I was actually quite pleased on how the comedy club was converted to Disney. I thought it was well done.

Hoping the snow isnt too bad tomorrow...we are only abt 40 min away via 355...
Another fan of SW here!

We went tonight and had fun. Will I drive 6 hours round-trip again to do it? Not sure. We had planned to spend the night, had even checked into our hotel room and used the shuttle to get to the mall, however when we checked weather.com when we got back, we decided we were better off driving until 1:00 a.m. to get home safely than trying to deal with the driving in the snow tomorow. They are forecasting periods of up to 1" per hour.

The only think I would like to add regarding the incentives was that they were allowing you to use your $5/point discount toward your downpayment. In the past they have always required your 10% to be paid (cash, credit, etc.), for this promotion only (that is how I understood it),they were willing to apply the $5/point toward the down payment.

Tonight there was a "dance party" to end the show. A lot of kids seemed to be enjoying it while the parents ate the desserts, and signed their lives away. Tonight we were given a rice krispie treat on a stick with a chocolate 'hat" when we first walked up to the "dessert area", we had a ton of cookies to choose from (DS said his was so hard he was afraid he would break a tooth before he broke the cookie), there were shish-ka-bobs with strawberries and mini brownies; strawberries and batter fried bananas foster; strawberries with kiwi and fried cheesecake. There were a few skewers of just fruit with either pineapple or cantaloupe. There were a few mickey rice krispie treats (with sticks and no chocolate) intersperse among the fruit-ka-bobs. They then had a separate table where you could get strawberry (I think) topping, white chocolate topping or chocolate topping for your fruit and cans of whipped cream to add to your fun. Bottled water was also available.

All in all we had fun, and if we could make a weekend of it, I would do it again, but since I knew we weren't adding on at this time, it was a lot of driving in 12 hours.

Somebody asked if there were any other give-aways? Not tonight, the only name they drew was for the 7 night RCI trip.

If you thought DeeVee Cee was scary, wait until you meet The Wishmeister!!:scared:
