Feb. Member Event at Doorway to Dreams (Updated p.11 with incentives)

I actually felt for the FL DVC people that had to come here this weekend.

Becasue they get to go right back to Florida Monday where it will be nowhere near as cold!!

We're going to the 4pm Sunday event. Anyone know how long these things are lasting? I'm bringing my 18-month old DD, and don't know how long she'll last!

The drawing......a framed Mickey print that is in the BLT rooms.......that's it.....no trip...nothing....

I would imagine that'll be the same thing in tomorrow's non-member drawing, too. Oh well, we shouldn't be "dreaming" about winning a trip, anyway.

we went to the 10 on saturday, from the time we walked into the improv and walked out, it was about 2 1/2 hrs, but we stayed to talk to our guide for about 20 minutes.

ah, the florida people will be all right. we talked to some on saturday morning. they drove in vans together. our guide said 20 came from there. a couple told us they never saw snow before. our kids got a kick out of that.

gotta love the lake effect we are getting hammered with today, my dh is tired of snow blowing.

I also liked the Wishmeister better than Ms. Dee Vee Cee.

I tried the dessert bar. There was skewers of fruit. Some of the fruit had pieces of brownie or cheesecake. The cheesecake on the skewer that I had was either deep fried in oil that had been used to deep fry chicken, or was stored in a freezer near chicken. When I bit into it, it tasted like fried chicken. I spit it out. I have been a vegetarian for 14 years, and I had some sort of reaction to it. I didn't even get to go out yesterday, sigh. I actually liked the buffets they had in previous years that were set up at the beginning with cheese, crackers, appetizers, MUCH better. Doing it at the end in the same place the kids were trying to dance was crazy.

The singers were good.

The freebies and giveaway (only 1 RCI trip... and reading about the limited destinations) were not as good in the past.

There was a weird mix of characters for the kids to take pictures with. Did another straight-to-DVD Aladdin movie come out?

No more open bar, sodas.

You can really tell Disney is cutting back.

Congrats on the win stinkerbell. We could see how excited you and your husband were about winning. Hopefully you will find something. We added on so we have a 7 night stay to plan as well. Do you need to go thru rci's site only?

BLT sales seem to be going well and that's all they have to sell right now other than maybe a bit of SSR due to the tree houses.

Did AKV sell out? I wasn't planning on buying there, I just don't think I saw that anyplace so far... Has my head been in the sand?

Just got back from the non-member event interesting being a member. DS won the framed art he was flabergasted!

DH is thinking of adding on a BLT to my surprise, would love to be able to stay there on occasion. I think he wanted the cruise for my other special needs son.

I wanted info on RCI and I thought it was intersesting they said you could book directly through member services.

The incentives were for the event only. Tonight they made a big deal about how if you call your WDW based guide tomorrow they will not be available.

Thanks for asking... yes, I had a horrible migrane most of Saturday. The type where your vision straight ahead is so grainy you can't read unless you look out of the periphery. I only had a headache like this two other times in my life, and each was after enormous stress to my body. I ended up sleeping a lot and that helped.

I cannot believe that they made the WDW-based DVC guides drive themselves in vans. I wonder if they drove straight through in shifts? I was under the impression that they had flown them in during past events, but maybe they drove then too? That's a really long drive!
