Oops, sorry about that Hawky7, I forgot this is an invitation only site. Good news is, sale has been extended for a day so you have 24 more hours to shop. Going to PM you the link right now. If anyone else wants it, let me know.

Thanks for the well wishes @Shanie17

Well you know my answer to that! :) I enjoy having a FB group, it gives you a more personal side to everyone. It's so fun! And like I have said before, we are still really good friends with everyone from our last cruise, usually we only stay friends with people from dinner or something, but it's so nice, people have gone on cruises together, we've gone to DL together. I am all in favor of having some new friends on the cruise!

I would love a facebook group! I find this forum not easy to respond on ( I know, its me!! You all seem to have it figured out.)

My name on facebook is Shannon Hamann-Edwards:yay:
Its getting close!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:woohoo:

I have been away from the site and missed answering all these questions but I think a facebook group is a great idea!

LOL! No worries, I'm ok with being asked that. Our names are not as common.

Yeah, I couldn't think of the best way to ask....

Good thing I asked, I was thinking Russian or something eastern European!

As you all have probably seen, I sometimes let my mouth move before I think too much! (Or in this case, let my fingers type and hit submit before I think...) :rotfl2:

Hi!

We were thinking of bringing some alcohol on board to keep our costs down, not a lot just enough for a drink or two in the evening on the balcony, it's my first time with a balcony, so really want to enjoy it!

Here's our dilemma, we fly in at 10:30 pm the night before boarding, and are planning to stay in San Pedro (doubletree or crowne plaza) Does anyone have a suggestion on the easiest way to purchase it in the morning before boarding? I'm sure all of the shuttles will be too busy with cruise ship people to take me to the store.

Any ideas?

Thanks!
Danielle

Our flight is domestic so we are just checking it in our luggage (packed very carefully and double ziploc'ed in case of breakage). I would call your airline to see what they allow, and whether customs will try to charge you for it.

I think there are some threads that talk about where some stores are nearby to those hotels, I can't find them, maybe you will have better luck! I'll look some more...

There is a Rite Aid nearby:
501 South Gaffey Street, San Pedro, CA

Vons:
1221 S Gaffey St, San Pedro, CA 90731

These seem within a mile or so of the port and nearby hotels. Maybe good for a morning stroll on Sunday? Wouldn't do it at night...

We actually bought rum runners for other cruises and put them in our luggage. They are plastic and hold about 750 ml. Those would be fine for checked luggage...

Thanks! Those both sound close enough for Sunday morning, heading to the websites to see what time they open!

Happy New Year!!!

Danielle

Question of the Day: Saturday, December 31st

Happy New Year's Eve!

Do you have any New Year's Resolutions?

I don't generally do new year's resolutions. I'm more of a, make this year better than the last one, live life to it's fullest and amendments to resolutions are a-ok kind of gal. But why not, in the spirit of the season and since I'm asking all of you, I'll make a few this year.

1. Work smarter, not harder, when possible.
2. Try a new restaurant (chains don't count) or new cuisine at least once a month.
3. Finish decorating DD's room
4. Finish decorating new office
5. Start-up an additional company
6. Hire one new employee
7. Work towards more media exposure for the company
8. Make an effort to do my hair, makeup and dress up more (not as much, but more like my pre-baby days)
9. Hunt for a new home more zealously (hopefully before having baby #2)
10. Spend more time with my family and loved ones

:santa: Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone!!! party:

The family and I just got back from a wonderful week in the Colorado Mountians skiing and spending some amazing family time with our big kids! :grouphug: So I obviously missed a bunch of questions, will not try to catch up, but will jump back in with the here and now. Hard to believe we are only just over a month away from our cruise! :woohoo:

Happy New Years All!

My resolution is to save enough this year for down payment on a new house in 2013. Also need to drop a few more pounds.

Hi everyone,

We've been "beta testing", but the facebook group is officially open! I will continue to post the Question of the Day here. However, the FB group is a bit more casual and makes it easier for everyone to post photos. Also, I no longer fear posting news of sales (lest I infringe on some sort of commerciality rule). Thanks @brentm3 for putting this together for us and @hawky7 @thelanes @disneylago for helping us test it out
