Feb 24-Mar 3, 2007 (Cast of 3 kids & 3 adults with pics)

The show you liked that you could not remember the name of was "Dreams". I was on the Western Magic cruise in December, so it is fun to re-live it through your report. Great pictures (I went to your Yahoo spot to see them all). Please tell your husband that people on the DIS boards are thankful that he is in the military for us.:thumbsup2

Thanks for the info. I will go back and add the name. I had asked my DH what the name was and he called it "wishes"...;) I guess he was close.
He said "all I remember was Wendy had to believe." Thats a man for ya!

we military families need all the encouragment we can get. It really goes to heart when you all show your support! WE are trying to prepare our kids for a hard year and half deployment.:guilty: Keep us in your prayers!

great TR! Great pics! Thanks for sharing!! I can't wait for our cruise!

Wow, what a great trip report! That was so fun to read! You have a beautiful family and those are great pictures! I'm looking forward to our Western cruise in December!

Suzy

Really enjoyed your TR. Seems like you guys had a great time!

BTW - I understand your feeling about the Pirate night festivities but as someone who had a late dinner seating (and not even the last one), we barely made it up to the party. By the time we got there, it was really crowded and the kids couldn't get near the stage. Remember, last dinner seating is 8:30 which only leaves an hour and fifteen minutes for them before the party starts. And forget about eating anything at the Pirate's buffet!!!:lmao:

Thanks for all the nice replys!

I am so glad you guys enjoyed the TR!

For those of you sailing soon, I hope you have a MAGICAL cruise!

About the late nights and pirate party in particular, Destiny's bedtime at home on school nights is 8:00 and that was central time. So, we moved up an hour to eastern time. She was just "pooped" every night. I feel for the people who live on the west coast! There is no way we could have made it through a late seating dinner!

What a great report! I LOVED all of the pics you posted and the different colored fonts. I noticed Hunter was in a few other photos but had a huge smile on his face in the pic with his friend. It makes you feel good that he really enjoyed himself and that Disney does a great job keeping the teens safe and happy!

Yes, the formal night pics, you would think we were twisting his arm trying to get him to smile;) Reminds me of the RCCL commercial. You know where the mom is searching, she knows its there, waiting to get a pic of her teen daughter smileing. Who ever made that commercial had a teen for sure! They were right on the money!

He runs when I get out my camera.

I think DCL does a wonderful job of keeping the teens happy in a safe manner!

Great trip report, thanks for sharing. The photos were excellent!

Great report - and beautiful family. Welcome to Georgia! My DH was born at Hunter back on 12/31/59! My FIL is a retired air force Lt. Col. Tell your husband THANKS for all he does for us!:thanks: My MIL loved being a military wife.

Thanks! Georgia seems to be working out well for us. EXCEPT for these bugs....my kids have bites and scars from bites all over them! I never knew something called "sand nats" could be so bad. The kids also had to get allergy meds. Kids these days, I grew up in Mississippi (dont tell anyone) and never had allergies or even noticed bugs. ;)

Wow, husband was born at Hunter AAF. That is intersesting!

Absolutely loved reading your TR!! :thumbsup2 You have me curious about the dolphin excursion now... 1- Why isn't it a good beach for kids swimming? 2- What time did you do the excursion? I'm thinking if it was done early enough in the day, maybe we'd have time to go to another kid-friendly-swimming beach? It's so hard to figure out when you've never been there before!!

Thanks for taking the time to share your report, it really was great! Now that your Mom is addicted to cruising, maybe she will take everyone on the DCL for a Christmas present! ;)

Thanks for the kind words!:)

The dolphin excursion was TERRIFIC! I can't say enough about it. We really enjoyed the encounter and can't wait to do the royal swim oneday (DD wasnt old enough this cruise). I would highly recommend both!:thumbsup2

1.) The beach was rocky and very wavy. You had to walk down slippery steps into the water. When you got into the water, it was too deep and rough for smaller kids. One second I was walking and another I stepped and would be way over my head. My DD (6) went in once or twice, with a life jacket on and I still had to hold on to her. DS (9) loves snorkling and had a blast on his personal tour. So, older children that can swim well, might enjoy this beach but this water is not for the younger crowd (IMHO).

On the brighter side, the actual beach was georgous (the tropical sceen). :cool2: The kids did have fun playing in the sand and it was very clean and relaxing.

2.) If I were you, I would book the earliest dolphin excursion and stay the day at the park. You will enjoy it and you can take your younger children to the pool when they want to swim. Yes, I think I forgot to mention, the park has a nice pool area. Our excursion was at 10:00 so we enjoyed the park until about 4:30 or so.

As far as a cruise for Christmas, I am already planning our next cruise...I just don't have the dates yet. DH leaves for Iraq (3rd time around:sad2: ) the 1st week of July for at least 15 months. So, we hope to cruise on his R&R (if he gets one). If not, we will go when he gets home. And yes, my addicted mom is going to be the first one on the boat!

Thought I would add these pics. They are of my DS(9) snorkling at Chankanaab National Park. The pictures are small because they were taken with a water camera and I had to scann them.

Jonah snorkling on the surface. His guide dove deep into the water to take these pics. I love it! Jonah was on cloud nine that day.

I had also added the pic of Jonah kissing the sting ray on the captian marvins sting ray city tour (Grand Cayman day). Once again, it is a water camera pic that has been scanned. So, not the best quality but you get the picture.

Those of you that have already read the report, and do not want to go back through to find the pic, here it is:

CUTE HUH?

I am loving your reports! Thanks so much for sharing your vacation with us...you have a beautiful family. As a USMC wife I can understand how excited you must have been for this trip. It is hard to schedule things when the government is moving your family around. My 8th grader loves to tell people he was born in Okinawa, Japan!:goodvibes Military kids are so adaptable and friendly. I hope you have a great time in Savannah!
