We woke up on Thursday morning to rain. We had to have all the checked luggage ready by 8:00am...so I made everyone get ready early. We still had more carry-ons then I would have wanted. Still undecided about spending the morning at AK. DP and DN decided they wanted a real breakfast and to use up the last coulpe of counter service meals on our plan. The rest of us stayed in the room and finished off the remaining cereal, milk, juice, and fruit I had ordered from Garden Grocery. We were done way before they got back...Captain Cook's was packed....as usual. The only complaint I have with our stay at the Poly is the counter service....ALWAYS busy and poorly designed for traffic flow.

AK didn't open until 9:00am so we had a sit down to decide what to do...the folks were parked out, the kids of course wanted to go, DP and I were torn. Then, it started to rain again....made the choice easier. Now we have something to look forward to next time. We decided to just head over to the Main Building and finish up shopping. Besides, the scooters had to be turned in by 9:00am. My dad took the scooters over at 8:30 and the keys over at the main desk. We all met over there at 10:30am...busses were set to leave for the port at 11:30.

I took the time to take a few last minute pics of the Resort.

This one is thanks to a passing CM of all 7 of us.

Lasting impression of the Poly? BEAUTIFUL, GREEN, LUSH. All the things Michigan is not, at least this time of year. CM's great, rooms large and clean.
We did have one issue with the Scooters but that didn't happen til a litter later.

FINALLY...3 full busses later...we are on our way to the WONDER!

:) I've been working and now my DD has come down with bronchitis... she has asthma, so this can be a big deal...she's been home from school since last Thursday. She's been very clingy, but is feeling better today. I plan on working on by report and pics this afternoon when she naps....so :upsidedow stay tuned!

First of all I'd like to say sorry, sorry, sorry this took so long.

My DD5 has been sick, she had bilateral Bronchitis and missed 2 weeks of school....she is MUCH better now.:thumbsup2

So we left off on the way to the port. We filled up 3 busses from the Poly to the port. My FIL slept the whole way, while the kids enjoyed the video....mostly pushing the the DVC. Finally our first glimpse of the WONDER!

The port was pretty full by the time we got there, but we moved along through security pretty quickly.
I checked the girls in at the kids club desk and we got our pager and wrist bands.
As soon as we boarded we dropped our things off in the cabin and high tailed it to the pool. It was the LEAST crowded we ever saw it. We made it our habit to swim early in the day, the least crowded time, and do other things in the afternoons.

We had pizza while the kids swam. Then headed back to the cabins to change clothes for the safety drill....pretty painless.

We hung out at the back "secret" deck 7 veranda for a bit before we headed to the deck party and then it was time for dinner at Animators Palette.

Our head waiter really pushed the Mickey IceCream....and my DD heartily approved.

We got back to the cabin after dinner with just enough time to take a couple pics and make it to the Show. This is the towel animals we found. I forget what order they were in...an elephant, a monkey, and a Bunny

This is the sunset from our veranda....we had cabins 7040 and 7042....connecting, perfect location IMHO.

That was pretty much the 1st day on the Wonder, pretty busy, it went by quickly....the girls slept as soon as their heads hit the pillows....I have pics of the bunkbeds if anyone wants to see let me know. After the kids went to bed, DP and I went to the Cove Cafe for a night cap....my favorite quiet place on board ship....we opened the connecting door and my folks kept an eye on the girls. Early sunrise for tomorrow, and Nassau.

Love your photo's. The sunset is simply magnificent. Glad your DD is doing ok. Looking forward to reading more :thumbsup2

This being our 3rd trip to Nassau, I really had no interest is getting off the ship. My Dad and FIL went into the port, the rest of us stayed on board and took advantage of the much smaller crowd in the pools and on decks.

I vowed last trip this one would be longer....but since my folks came, and the kids wanted to go to WDW, we did the 3 day....NEXT time I putting my foot down for a 7 day minimum! I enjoy just being on the ship.

That night we enjoyed the Pirate Party....for about 5 minutes. My DD was so tired, she didn't make it to the fireworks. She also boycotted pictures. I snuck a couple anyway.

Early AM to get a good spot at CC!!!!:cool1:
ALOTTA PICS COMING AT CC!!!

Can I just say Heaven on Earth.

We docked about 8:30am and we headed out very shortly after...wanted to get good spots at the family beach and we did. We had several loungers with a hamick in the middle. There were many more hammicks this time then I remember, and the trees have had a chance to mature nicely.

We started the day with a swim with the Stingray's. If you decide to do this make sure you give yourself enough time the walk there. Follow to signs, and keep following them, and keep following them. LOL :lmao:

It is a looooong walk, but well worth it. My DN couldn't be persuaded to get NEAR the water with the Rays.....my DD LOVED it. After I fed a couple I couldn't get her to let me have a turn....it was still a bit too early and the water was cold. If I did it again I would make it for later in the afternoon.

We went back to beach where the folks were lounging....I made a surprise res for DN, DP, and my mom. The headed over to the parasailing and I took DD snorkeling (she is too little for the parasailing, but was a real trooper with the Stingrays.)

The rest of the afternoon was eating, drinking, and lounging. The Konch Cooler was devine....the waiters walking around the beach were handy without being obnoxious. The BBQ was good.

A couple pics on the way back to the ship

We got back to the ship with enough time for a quick swim and to get ready for and dinner at Parrot Cay.
This was out towel animal when we got back to our cabin that evening.

I go to bed that night a little depressed because we have to leave in the morning.
