Who else will be joining us?

Hi Katerina! So fun to cruise with you again! We are Aaron, Natalie, Braden (8 during the cruise) and Cailin (4 during the cruise). It is so fun to have another cruise scheduled after just finishing our last one!

I have added your thread to the cruise meet list :beach:

Have a great cruise!

Natalie...as determined as Alex was about doing the 5K, once he heard he might miss the 1st activity which was the bike tour, he changed his mind. Though Vibe was still getting together when I left him and noticed runners returning to the ship.

 There's an "Official 5K" thread...I'm sure there is someone there that may be able to answer your ?s

Do you have the main dinning again?

So glad that the cruise is finally less then a yr away! This will be my second, went in 2004, but my 2 kids (son 17 and daughter 6) and mother in laws first. My mother and daughter don't know yet they just think we are going to disney again, it will be a surprise. I am so excited and have almost slipped many times. I am thinking that we will fly in on Saturday, seeing as we live in Buffalo Nd never know with weather and then come home the following Saturday. Trying to find a good hotel for the overnight stay, thinking Hyatt House because it has 2 bedrooms. Can't wait to read up more as it gets closer :)

:wave2: Hi!

That weekend is very unpredictable. We normally get hit with a snow storm or blizzard during those weekends. This year we traveled that same week and decided to leave a couple of days early...just in case...lol...we didnt get hit with a snow storm but once we got to Orlando it was COOOLD...lol

However, we may just take our chances and next year and fly out the day of...and hope for the best...lol

I was actually booked for this same cruise last year - until flight issues caused me to switch to the Dream. I asked my old group which hotel worked best. One lady hated her hotel experience, but the best experience seemed to be this one:

"We stayed at the Comfort Suites Miami North on Miniola Ave. It is less than a year old. We booked in advance and got a 2 queen suite w/ foldout sofa bed for $159. It was very clean - staff friendly. It included shuttle from airport, shuttle to cruise ship, and also a hot breakfast in the morning. It was full of cruise ship passengers - and I learned that you had to schedule your port shuttle the night before - they ran every half hour, but were booked up early! And yes, they accommodated my scooter!"

I am not copmletely sure whether all of the shuttles to and from the port/airport were free, but I will probably look into this hotel once it is available for booking. I will also ask the other group wheter anyone scanned copies of their navigators for us to see what the schedule is like.

Do you have the main dinning again?

Thanks for the race info. I hope Alex really enjoyed the teen group on Castaway Cay! Our Castaway Cay day was our favorite of all!

Yes - I am pretty sure we have the main dining again. I have had problems receiving my confirmation but once I get it I will check to make sure. I don't know why but every email that my travel agency sends to me has to be sent twice for me to get it. My inbox doesn't like their automated mail for some reason and eats it or something :).

I believe Castaway Cay might have been his favorite too...I know it was our favorite. OMG How he loved Vibe...lol

I "wonder" (lol) if we will have the same dinning rotation??? ::yes::

Hi--
We are excited to be joining you all on this cruise next February! :cool1:

Cruising will be myself (Maureen), my DD (age 15 at cruise time), and my DS (age 13 at cruise time). This will be our 4th DCL trip, though the first one out of Miami. We also have Main Dining--tried the 2nd seating last cruise but it just didn't work as well for us. It will also be my DD's first experience in the Vibe.

I was pleased to already see a recommendation for a hotel in the area pre-cruise--we usually travel the day before the cruise, but will likely be heading directly home (to snowy SE Michigan) post-cruise.

I feel main dining worked out best for our family...DS stayed through dinner w/out rushing to Vibe...lol...and I didn't feel like it was bed time right after dinner...lol

It just started snowing...again...about an hour ago in Southern Westchester NY...

What other cruises have you done?

We've done the 4 night Bahamas cruise (Wonder, 2010), The 7 night Alaska cruise out of Vancouver (Wonder, 2011), and the 7 night Western (Magic, 2012). We did the fish extender exchange via Disboards on all those cruises, which were a bit of work but a lot of fun :) . We have yet to try the newer ships--President's Week is our best chance to cruise and it just wasn't cost-effective to do the Fantasy for 2014 that week. Someday I will get on one of those bigger ships, but I have a special spot in my heart for the Wonder :goodvibes

We managed to book a 'secret porthole' room for this cruise, so I am excited about that--usually we stay down in the belly of the ship! (Though we did splurge for a verandah on the Alaska cruise, which was very worth it in my opinion)

We got more snow again overnight. I am so done with winter!

This thread is pretty quiet...:listen:

Is the cruise just too far off to be preoccupied with it yet?

Super excited that I booked the hotel my family will be staying at before the cruise :) best part I paid for it, one less thing to budget for in February! I've read some great reviews for SAS transportation as well, so will probably use them to drive us to the port. I'm a few months I will book the hotel for the extra day after and pay for it too. I can't wait only 327 more days!!!

Sorry...it's 10 months and 20 days!
I am so sorry for being MIA...
...a few family health issues have come up and we've been preoccupied.
We really cant wait til our cruise...it's not too far to dream and talk about it! LOL

How's everyone doing???

The last time we were on the Wonder was in 2003 and I just dont remember...can we fit an average suitcase or carry on under the bed?

We've been debating whether or not to go a day or 2 early like we normally do. :confused3

Natalie...would you consider linking our reservations? On the last cruise you were just a table away...think about :scratchin it and "inbox me"

This is good to know...so far we've been thinking of arriving the day of...but I'm not sure if we should to take my chances...

I regret to tell you I have some very sad news. DH is going for his 2nd medical procedure this year. Due to his health and the expenses, we will not be able to go on this cruise. It was a very sad day for us when we called DCL and cancelled our cruise.

We do hope everyone has a great time during the cruise...
