Feb.13th(lucky for some) 2010 Eastern Valentines Cruise - The Love Boat Sails Again !

Hi,

Is anyone doing the fish extender thing for the Feb 13th 2010 7 day cruise?
I have never done it, so was wondering if there is a list of people / room numbers that will be taking part?

Thanks,
Steve

Hi Steve,

It would be fun, but we haven't actually talked about it yet. Any takers??? Could someone on the thread keep a running spreadsheet of those who are interested?(I am not good at that sort of thing...:confused3)

Sorry, no good at spreadsheets either, but I'm starting to consider the FE thing (if I get time to make one before our cruise).:goodvibes

Just thought I'd pop in and say hello from very sunny Dubrovnik in Croatia !:wave2:

We went down to the harbour this morning and saw loads of cruise ships......the kids were all excited thinking about their February cruise !
Can't be much more than 100 days or so away

Hi, I'm new to this thread, just found it today. I'm sailing with me, Linda and my husband, John. We booked about 3 months ago.

We are category 6, room 6126. It's our first Magic cruise. We've done the Wonder 3 times--2 DVC cruises (met Roy Disney on one of them!!), and a 4-day with our DD, DSIL, DGD, DS and future DDIL.

Looking forward to meeting you all on the ship, and talking with you here before!

The family is getting really fired up for the cruise. Over the weekend, I booked our activities and dining. I can already taste Palo's Chocolate souffle anD Calamari!!! I also was able to finalize our dining at WDW for the days prior to the cruise.

The air outside is getting a bit chillier here in the Northeast and that means its time to get out of here for a DCL cruise!!:cool1:

Hi Linda,

Welcome!!! Your going to love the 7 day. You'll know your way around on the Magic. It's hard to tell the boats apart (IMO)

How was your trip in Oct????????? Do you have a report?

Have you booked your air as of yet? The air rates are crazy for 2/13/10.

Since I am a gold I also booked my Palo & Brunch & shore excursions last weekend. There was alot to choose from.

I am getting really excited!!!

Thanks for the nice welcome! We did book our air already, and it was a lot, I think about $500 each. For that week, we thought it would only get higher, so we took it.

We can book our Palo and excursions on November 15, so we're finalizing our decisions now. Does anyone here recommend anything in either St. Thomas or St. Maarten? We've never been to either port, so we're open to suggestions. We thought one beach day and one tour day.

I don't usually write a trip report here, as I do a trip journal on the actual trip for us. I like to remember all the details of my Disney trips. Our October trip was great as always, but VERY HOT. We actually had to leave Epcot one day because the heat became oppressive. We had a nice dinner at California Grill, tried Earl of Sandwich and Captain's Grille for the first time, and did the Segway tour in Epcot. If you were there, I was the geek who drove it too slow to keep up with the group! A nice CM named Larry rode in the back with me. I enjoyed it, but probably won't do it again. We also did a Culinary Demo and Wine Seminar and enjoyed both.

So if anyone can suggest a great excursion, please share!

We have had great luck luck with Island Marketing Ltd. for booking excursions. We've used them for many different outings on several islands and always had an excellent tour - on time, clean vehicles, great native drivers who offer fun suggestions, etc. On St. Maarten we have done various beaches, but have also gone on the Lord Sheffield Tall Ship Adventure. Its a 4 to 5 hour (10am to 3pm or so if I remember correctly) snorkel/swimming/pirate ship adventure that includes drinks, snacks and a BBQ lunch that is prepared right on the boat. Their dock is within walking distance (about a 8 to 10 min walk) from the port, and from there you can wander off into a fun, safe "straw market" sort of shopping place. We liked it so much the first time that we went back a couple years later and it was just as good. You can see the boat at www.lordsheffield.com to see if it's something you'd be interested in. It's a smaller boat, about 30 people, and if you get a group together they will give you a discount

What part of New York are you from?

Last year, we booked in St Martin The French Riviera beach tour with Disney.

I liked the fact that it was a no brainer. We boarded the Disney bus, & had a wonderful tour guide with so much "knowlege" of both Islands she shared with us to the beach.

Once on the beach we were given a drink & directed to the reserve Disney lounge chairs near the water

Lunch was included the resturant was quite good. We were able to shower wash off, before boarding the bus back to the Magic. It is cheaper to do this on your own, but I like to be wined dined & phampered part of the Disney Magic.

Try to get a Passporter for the Disney cruise. I found it quite helpful.

Pat, We live on Long Island, on the South Shore, in Island Park, which is one town over from Long Beach, the town more known in the area. Where are you from?

We actually read about the French Riviera beach tour, and it sounded good. I did get a Passporter guide, they have SO much info about the cruises. So I'm thinking we'll do an island tour on St. Thomas or St. John. What did you pick for your excursions?

I can tell you that on the last Wonder cruise, I did the Stingray thing on Castaway Cay, and it was pretty cool. We got to feed the rays and pet them.

I'm getting excited too. When you can start booking things, you know it's close.

Hi Linda,
My sister Joann lives in Bayshore, she works for Weight Watchers in your area. Small World!!

Last year there were quite a few families from LI on our cruise (the're not on the Disney Boards). They go every year big group.

I live just over the GW bridge, we usually fly out of LGA, it is closer than EWR but this year we got a great deal with CO no stop from EWR.

As far as St Thomas, last year we went to Megan's Bay Beach with Disney.
St. Thomas & St. Martin we rebooked the same tours for this year.

I remember the the stingray on CC was a big hit. Last year we almost didn't make it to CC due to the winds. Lot's of excursions were canceled. I thought it was perfect beach weather. Not to hot, & yet not to cool.

We are all getting very excited :woohoo:

Well, folks,
the cost of airfare just priced us off this cruise. We've decided to hold off and sail on the Dream after it launches. Hope everyone has a Magical Cruise!:wizard:

So sorry to hear this - I'm sure the Dream will be worth the wait though :goodvibes

Just a reminder - 5 more days before Silver CC members can book Palo etc......:yay:

Hi everyone - we just booked this as our first ever cruise! We are so excited! It will be me, my husband, 10 year old daughter, and 8 year old son. We go to Disney every February or April, but decided to mix things up and try the cruise this year. It's going to be here before we know it!

We will miss you! Airfare IS outrageous this year. I read it's becuase airlines have reduced their flight schedules so can now charge a premium for the remaining ones. Ugh......::headache:
