Feb.13th(lucky for some) 2010 Eastern Valentines Cruise - The Love Boat Sails Again !

Ahhhh... so sad. :sad1: I guess my King Cake experience will continue to be limited to seeing them on the Travel Channel!

And, Kim, we have always brought glasses of wine and/or other adult beverages to the dining room. We typically have bought a wine package, but if we meet somewhere for a drink before dinner, we would bring the unfinished glass with us to the table. I probably won't buy a package this time since DH isn't going to be there, so I will be more likely to bring a glass with me.

We are at 16 for the Ladies Lunch now.

:flower3:
And, just to mention that you DO NOT have to participate in the "Swap" (which I'd really like to re-name as the Jeter-Swap) if you feel like it's just too much to bring yet another thing along. It can be fun to watch others "stealing" gifts from each other too. So, don't let the gift swap keep you from joining the lunch!

that is a bummer. I guess if I get one I will share with my pals at Country Inn and Suites on the 12th. I still think that there should be some sort of Mass on Ash Wednesday. but who knows. I am sure there will be other folks from Louisiana on board to revel on Fat Tues. I can't wait to meet all of you guys on board. Feb 13 is stil too far away.

Hi Everyone!
I am so late getting on the wagon with this cruise meet site!
This the first 7 day for our family. It is me, 36 (I am turning 37 on the cruise-yikes!!) I am an elementary school librarian, my dh, who is in sales and my 10 yr old ds, and 7 year old ds. We live outside of Raleigh NC.
We gave the cruise as a Christmas present to the boys. They are beyond excited for this trip.
I am finishing my masters and have so much "work" to do before we sail, so I can relax on board.

Anyway....just a question....is it too early to start packing?!?!? I am so excited!
You all have so much fun stuff planned for this cruise. Hope we can meet some of you on board!

Welcome! :cool1: We've got a pretty crazy bunch here - someone suggested that we may have reached gang status! :rotfl:

In case you haven't been able to read everything we have a meet and greet scheduled for 3 p.m. the day we board in the promenade lounge. We also have gift exchange called the 'fish extender' going on during the cruise. You must be signed up with me by the 31st to participate. Check out threads on the main board about what it is and let me know if you want to join in! Last but not least (for now) we are having a ladies brunch on Thursday at 12:30 and are still deciding on which restaurant. This will include an optional $10 gift for a game during lunch. You do not have to do the gift in order to come to the brunch. :)

That's catches you up! Let us know if you have any questions!

Anyone find out there room numbers this weekend (Barb) :confused3

ARGHHHHH no cabin assignment for me YET :rolleyes1 Is this some kind of usual torture? Is Mickey seeing just how much I can take BEFORE he tells me  I SWEAR I was on my best behavior on my last cruise, security was only alerted once :rolleyes1

Packed.....is it time to pack? I have to be honest on the packing subject, I pack the NIGHT before we leave. I don't even lay my stuff out before then. Crazy I know, keep in mind that I pack for all of us even my DH. I have told him that one of these trips he is going to be wearing pink socks and a speedo:scared1:

Another rainy day here in Virginia.....I can't wait for the cruise!:cheer2:

It looks like we have a great crew and have lots of fun planned :goodvibes

WELCOME......step in join the crowd I'm pretty sure you will have a GREAT time!

FUN FUN FUN I think that should be the theme for this cruise :dance3:

Barbara, I also pack the night before for the family. Maybe that is why I usually pack too much. This time it's just me and dd, and I really am going to try to pack light. So, if I'm wearing the same thing every time you see me, you'll know it's the first time EVER that I packed light.

I think I will dedicate one carry on bag to all wine and beer, rather than shoes and clothes.

It's also raining in Atlanta. I am hoping for nice sunny days on our cruise.

Karen, thanks for the OK about bringing a glass of wine to dinner. I have to look more at the wine pkg but can't imagine it would be something I could do with me the only one drinking it. I always give extra tips to the staff anyway, so wouldn't feel bad about bringing a glass with me and then maybe ordering my second one at dinner.

Welcome to the new members who have joined our thread.

P.S. Still no room number here...

......I like the idea using the carry on for wine and beer! We drive so that is not so much of a concern. BUT we carry a lot of stuff for Jen and since she's in a wheelchair we don't have enough hands. To bad we all can't share a wine package! :rolleyes1

We are late dinning- what is everyone else?

Early dinner (had great servers last year)

It is raining almost all day here in Northern CA and supposed to rain all week. What am I going to do with the kids tomorrow...

I just read a thread saying we already do not have Golden Mickey show nor Golden Mickey dinner. It was gone a few weeks too early. We will have intermediate show until they get ready for that Villain show in March.

Our family have late dinner seating, otherwise we will be having dinner @2pm PST, not possible.

Thank you, Joy for the latest FE updates. I am almost done preparing for FE gifts. They will come every day to your doors. ;)

We are also late dinner.

Joy, are you sure you don't want to switch to late dinner and we just tell them to throw our entire gang on one side of the dining room each night?

I haven't talked to Brooke yet, but she just got off the Magic yesterday. Hopefully she will update us and let us know the deal with the show on formal night. I sure was looking forward to eating my chocolate ticket...

I know I said I was in already, but if are swapping Jeter, I am REALLY in!

Cupertino.......I just booked one of my corporate folks in that town!!

I read the comments about the shows and it made me a little sad :sad2:

:rotfl: would just ask for "Mickey's Mob" sitting? It would be fun!

We are late dinner also. Linda Farrell and I linked reservations so we'll be at a table for 6.... Linda and her friend Betty, me, Jody and my daughters. Linda called DCL and made the arrangements... is it possible for us all to link and be on the same rotation/ together in the dining rooms ????? My goodness the excitement of all these plans is almost too much.

Snow tonight - another 4 to 6" which is nothing to us. Our ground has been covered for months. We live at a very high elevation so we get a lot of snow, which is WHY I NEED IT TO BE WARM ON THE CRUISE! :rotfl:

HUM......not sure but I would think they could link together. We have a special request for Jen, we have to sit by the door Jen doesn't handle sitting in the middle of the dinning very well. Often is the case John or I have to leave dinner early with Jen, and the other stays and finsihes the meal and brings the other a covered plate. Some nights Jen is great and can sit for hours while other nights it is a quick 30min meal. The waiters understand and always bring our food really quickly understanding what our situation is.
