Feb.13th(lucky for some) 2010 Eastern Valentines Cruise - The Love Boat Sails Again !

Hay Everybody, count me in, (with Angela too)

FYI, if you used a travel agent, Disney Cruise mails the documents to agent, then the agent will mail to you. Many won't get there documents till next week.

I love the ideal of a gift, for 10.00 but does it have to be Yankee's can it just be a surpise gift??

PS Barb, went past the Bendex dinner, & thought of you today!!!!

1230 for lunch is actually better for me--we have High tea at 3, so I'll probably have to leave a little early anyway. I'm game for anything regarding a gift swap! Kelly

IT BETTER NOT BE YANKEES! Or this Red Sox fan will be very upset! I believe the term "Yankee Swap" came from the old custom of "Yankees" being cheap. Where we live in north central MA there are a lot of old "Yankees" still and hmmmmm.... that may just be true!

Any $10.00 gift will do... as long as it is NOT A NEW YORK YANKEES ITEM!:rotfl::rotfl: Whatever we call our swap, it sounds like it's going to be a lot of fun!

Lunch now at 12:30 PM - restaurant to be announced!

Everything sounds fine to me! Do we think 12:30 is earlier enough to do our eating/chatting/gift giving? I guess we could always move it up on deck if we 'get kicked out' of the restaurant!

I'm sooooo looking forward to meeting everyone!

-joy

PS - I'm on face book. Send me a friend request and I'll add you!

When I called they said that they stop SERVING at 1:30 and 2:00 but that we would be welcome to stay for "a while" after that. But you're right... we could move the party elsewhere if we need to.

LOL talking about feeling like a fool............ :rolleyes1

Where outside of Philly? My husband is originially from Bucks County. Still have family in Quakertown/Allentown. In Fact my SIL from Stockton, NJ will be joining us on the cruise too.

OMG!!! I grew up in Levittown,PA :cool1: Lower Bucks County. When I was older I moved to Pennington, NJ for a while. I have an OLD boyfriend that lives in Stockton. Small Small world!

I am in for the gift exchange, but need to check with Brooke when she gets back to see if she wants to do it. We haven't shopped yet for the FE gifts...those always seem to add up but are totally worth it.

I also think it's a good idea to do lunch early to make sure we have enough time.

If someone gives me a NYY item, I will throw it overboard. My DH works for the Atlanta Braves and would kick my butt for bringing home NYY stuff!

Still no docs or cabin assignment. But, Brooke is my travel agent and she spent today at Castaway Cay, so not sure if our stuff is waiting for her at home.

I grew up in Annapolis, MD --- not far from Philly, and I just moved to GA from Brandon, MS. One of my best friends lives in Pennington, NJ. It's a small world :)

No kidding it's a small world. My mother and stepfather live in Brandon, MS...

World is getting smaller by the minute. Pennington is a really small town....I worked at the Mercer County Airport for years. Where in Pennington did you live? Did you know any of the Ottinger's, Mason's, Kaminski's or Kurti's? All from Pennington.

My Dh is from Picayune MS :yay:

Is your DH familiar with Paul's Pastry in Picayune? We should have a King Cake party for Mardi Gras. I priced a King Cake that would feed 15-20 people--$52.00. Kinda pricey and I don't know if we can ship something like that, but it would be a fun thing to do. Whoever gets the "baby" in the cake has to have the next King Cake party...:)

I was thinking about a King Cake too since Fat Tuesday is on the 16th - which also happens to be my 21 Wedding Anniversary :-) I am on the hunt for "beads" too! I just didn't know where to get a good one mail order. My old boss is from New Orleans and his family always brought one for him. I NEVER got the baby!

DH doesn't recall Paul's but it's been more than 30 years since he has been "back home".

OH...I would gladly kick in for the King Cake ;)

Nothing to feel like a fool about....being that you are from NY/NJ it makes sense that you would think about it that way. But.. just to be clear for everyone... this isn't about baseball! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I'm over baseball.....growing up outside Philly....I had no choice but to cheer for the Phillies.... is was a sad World Series for me:sad2: Then there was football......:headache:

How many beads do you need? We have a couple of places devoted to carnival. You can't steal my FE gift idea, though;). I'll look into the logistics of shipping a King Cake. I'm already having my FE gifts shipped to our stateroom, so I don't know if there's a limit.

This girl from the north has only seen a King Cake on the Travel Channel!

It's pretty much just a frosted pastry. Some have fillings, but the traditional has a cinnamon center. Great with a cup of coffee!

I think a King Cake party sounds cool. I thought about bringing one with us. We are driving to the Port the day before we sail. I live in Louisiana so King Cakes are plentiful. I wonder if they will have Mass on Ash Wednesday?

I would respond with the little quotes above, but don't know how to do that. So......

Barbarasc--my DH's aunt's family is from Levittown, PA. Do you know the Maio family?

Ladies brunch--Betty and I will definitely be there. Can the Yankee gift be anything a woman would like to receive? I too thought of Derek Jeter and co. (My DD's license plate is MRSJETER) no kidding.

Just wanted to say that I am leaving for WDW Sat AM for a quick 3-day weekend, for DGD's 5th birthday, so I will be checking back here and PMs on Monday night. I checked the temp. on WESH and it looks pretty comfortable for the weekend. Fingers crossed!!

Talk to you all again on Monday, Linda
