Feb.13th(lucky for some) 2010 Eastern Valentines Cruise - The Love Boat Sails Again !

Thank you! I can't wait to try a cruise. I went dress shopping for my daughter today and got her a bunch of cute dresses to wear to dinners. I'm going to make both kids a "Cruise box" gift for Christmas! We're driving down for the first time, so I'm a little nervous about that, but with airfare so expensive it was the only way we could do it.

It looks like there are some experienced cruisers here. We don't really want to pay for excursions too much. We'd like to just walk around and go to the beach. Is that easy enough to do? Maybe just pay for a taxi or something? Or is it best to do an official excursion?

Don't be nervous, you'll do fine. Your smart by driving, gee with the unpredictable snow weather, all of us northerners, might hitch a ride with you.

Try calling your local libaray & reserve "Disney Cruise Passporter" 2009 & it will tell you all the tours for you to do on your own.

If my DH was with me on the cruise, we would do the tours on our own & save.

Are you driving straight thru, or are you staying at Orlando one night? If you stay at the Port Canveral Raddison, the night before, our cruise, you can leave your car at the hotel for free the entire stay of the cruise for free. We did that one year, it was great & fun.

Is today the day everyone can book there excursions?

I am so........excited. you think, this was my first cruise. LOL

Just realised that we are a party of 4 ...and this is a cabin for 3 only...so I'm sure this is why it is not showing for me to book.

Welcome reenie and hockeymom and families!! The cruise is going to be great! Midnight marks the time you can go online and book excursions and Palo if you are in the Castaway Club. Can't wait!

I've been reading other threads about the Fish Extenders and doing the small gifts for the friends we meet here on this thread. It sounds like a really nice idea. Anyone else for it? I'm in if we decide to do one. I would also be happy to help plan the fish extender thing, so I guess if you are interested, we can start a list of participants.

For all of us Long Islanders: Yes airfare is crazy this year. It is cheaper to fly to Disneyland or Europe.

We opted to fly Delta to Jacksonville (out of LGA), rent the car and drive. We are flying in on the 12th, and coming home on the 21st.

We are also on the South Shore, in Massapequa Park.

Hope to see you all 90 days from now. At least I got the Palo ressies I wanted.

Well, I got back on eventually after about 15mins....phew !

Luckily I had already got my two "must have" Palo ressies, and was in the middle of a "would also like" Palo High Tea, when the system threw me off.
Glad to say that when I finally got back on the Palo Tea that I was in the middle of confirming was still there to book.

I'm so pleased I have managed to get Palo on Valentines' Day evening ....so worth me getting up at 5am here !!!

I'm so pleased I have managed to get Palo on Valentines' Day evening ....so worth me getting up at 5am here !!!

I was able to get mine around 10am with still plenty of times showing as available.

What's the best way to request to not have the rotation with Animator's Palate on Sunday night? Should I call DCL and make a request or just wait to fix it once on the boat?

I would wait until you are on board - with any luck you may not need to change anything.

This is our third cruise, and are kids are getting older, so they will not be too bothered about missing certain restaurant nights etc....infact we are seriously considering trying out the dining at the self serve restaurant/room service some evenings instead of formal dining every time....just for a change

My family already knows about the cruise. I can't keep anything a secret. My daughter would love to get in touch with other teens so maybe after Christmas they can hook up.

book Does anyone here recommend anything in either St. Thomas or St. Maarten? We've never been to either port, so we're open to suggestions. We thought one beach day and one tour day.
So if anyone can suggest a great excursion, please share!

We have also used a company called Air Force One Tours www.havefunwithus.net for excursions in St. Thomas. They are really good, the drivers are all locals who love their island and want to share it with tourists. I just booked a 9 am to 4 pm shopping/tour/beach package for $30.00 per person, but they have many different packages to choose from.

This will be our second time on the Magic but its been almost 7 years (youngest DD was 9 months old).

Is there a meet up planned? We were able to meet some families before our last cruise and it was great 'knowing' people on board.

Yes, very !!!....you can even get a Man U. (as its referred to over here) kit for your Build A Bear LOL !!!
Official club stuff is quite pricey, but there plenty of other Man U. merchandise around too.

We are Liverpool FC supporters ourselves, though we have been to Old Trafford lots & lots of times, as the England national team were playing there regularly when they were building the new Wembly Stadium in London a few years back.

I am a big David Beckham fan myself ...though my DH can't bare him ! ...but then DH is a Welshman !!!

Yes, it would be great to organise a meet either pre-cruise and/or on the first day. Anyone here good at spreadsheets ? Last cruise we did someone put together a spreadsheet we could all add our names, place we are from and ages of the kids.
