We are booked with FD. Can I upgrade to the deluxe dining plan and pay the difference?

I had the same question. So the cost would be the difference between the basic dining price and the deluxe price?

The regular dining plan is $39.99 per night per adult or junior (ages 10-17), $10.99 per night for children (ages 3-9). The deluxe is $71.99 per night per adult or junior (ages 10-17), $20.99 per night for children (ages 3-9).

So to upgrade with free dining, it would be $32 for adult and $10 for kids.

Sorry to hijack your thread, but...

What's the latest that you can upgrade without being charged a penalty?

As long as your package total goes up, all change fees are waived. You'll only need to pay the difference.

Once within 48 - 72 hours of arrival, your package cannot be changed.

Hope that helps! :)

Yep - the girl at Disney kept saying we should upgrade to Deluxe. She just couldn't get it through her head when I told her we can't eat that much food and didn't need Deluxe. She kept saying it's only a little bit more. Yeah like a thousand, lol.

Yuppers, the CM tried like hell to get me to "upgrade" for only $30 PP, per night, heck thats chump change!!!! :sad2:

none of my business, but, I urge you to save the money and not upgrade. not only is that TONS of food, but you will have to plan SO MUCH! reservations, twice a day! you won't have much time to do anything else but eat.
now if you have been to Disney umpteen times and seen everything and done everything, and your thing if fine dining, then go ahead. but I would sugget sticking with the free dining as it is, and paying OOP for breakfast. you don't really get your money's worth for breakfast anyway. or, if you want some character breakfasts. then if that isn't enough food, pay OOp for some CS lunches,... or the buffets (bomas, biergarten) are reasonable, include appetizer type foods AND desserts, and really aren't the best value on the DDP anyway. ... (be sure, if you pay OOP for any buffets, you still nee d ADRs)

We upgraded to the deluxe plan. It was $192 ea for the 7 nights. It is just the 2 of us going for DH's 40th bday.

So, for less than $200 we'll eat @ California Grill, Artist Point, yachtsman, Flying Fish and Citricos along with our regular ADRs
