:confused3 How far iin advance do you fax room requests?, We are making our third trip in July, never faxed a request before and have always recieved our requested areas/room type. We will be celebrating my wife's birthday this trip and I'd like to make everything special for her :wizard: and want to try to get the water view room she wants!

Fax 3-4 days prior to arrival.....My understanding is the room assignment is done approx 3 days prior so faxing any sooner could run the risk of being tossed or forgotten about.

We did this at the Poly for Christmas and got the ajoining rooms and building we asked for! Some will say they do not take faxes any longer but we had success and will certainly try it again in Sept. Can't hurt! :goodvibes

If you have put your requests in already, I wouldn't worry about faxing. A lot of the resort room assigners don't even look at the faxes anymore! They just toss them because they got so many of them, they spent hours reading them!
Just be sure to have your requests noted on your reservation. I know there will be those who swear that it was their fax that got them the exact room they wanted. But....in over 15 trips to WDW, I have yet to fax a request and only one time did I not get any of my requests. But, that one time (at POP) I actually got a room that I think was better than what I had requested!

I agree with the others. I don't believe that the Room Assigners even looked at faxed requests any more. The most important thing is to be sure that the requests are on your reservation in CRO. Order them in the order that they are important to you.

1) If you paid for a water view, you should be in good shape.
2) Water-View is a paid room level, so you will have no problem.
3) If you are asking for a free upgrade to a water view, the odds are slim.

I always fax my requests - never have them hooked to my ressie - and I always get them .... so I'd say they do look at the faxes.
