Favourite Character Dining Experience for Adults?

Hi everyone,

If you could pick just one character dining experience that you would recommend to an adult couple who don't have kids, what would it be?

Breakfast, lunch or dinner suggestions welcomed!

My DH and I really enjoyed Cinderella's Royal Table. The food was great both times we've been there (dinner) and the Princesses are fun.

We've also done a meal at Akershus and it was ok but we liked CRT more.

Oh and many years ago we had breakfast at the Crystal Palace. We went with family and it was fun. We haven't made it back there but not because we didn't like it! The Pooh characters were fun and I remember the food being good as well.

I would love to do CRT, but my boyfriend isn't the biggest Princess fan so it might take some convincing!

Hadn't given much consideration to Crystal Palace but may look into it now, thanks!

I wouldn't say that my DH is a big princess fan but he doesn't hate them either. The big selling point for him was a quality meal in a romantic setting. We ate late so there were more couples and less kids (though watching their joy was very fun!)

We really wanted to check out 1900 Park Fare but couldn't make a reservation work. I've heard the characters there are awesome!

As far as character dinning goes, we like booking at Chef Mickey's for Breakfast or 1900 Park Fare for Breakfast/Dinner.

We (2 Grandparent-empty nesters) like Cape May Cafe. There seem to be a high number of adults there, I think because of the convention trade in the area. It's relatively quiet (for a character meal). And the food's pretty good.

Haha. I am going to solo next time and plan two character meals at Park Fare, one each at Crystal Palace, Garden Grill and CRT. I really liked doing the character Galactic Breakfast. I am a people watcher, love seeing other people have a good time and enough themselves. You go about your daily live and all you usually see is stress and worry.

In order of preference: Tusker House, Garden Grill, 1900 Park Fare. I know that was three, not one.

Thanks for all of the suggestions! We'll probably end up doing more than one, I just wondered what everybody's top recommendations are.

We have adult "kids" and we really enjoyed the low-key atmosphere of Askerhaus. The characters are fun but not loud or too crazy (Chef Mickey! and Ohana loud and busy! but fun) 1900 Park Faire is very nice and calm as well.

I really enjoyed Tusker House last year. I've got Akerhaus, CRT, Chef Mickeys and 1900 Park Faire this year so I'm very glad to hear everyone enjoyed them!

I've been to tons of character meals w/ my kids, never alone as adults. But as an adult I like the Garden Grill the best. My hubby says he liked the Polynesian (I thought it was quite loud and overwhelming and his reply surprised me, but he said that one is his favorite). To be fair we have not eaten at Chef Mickeys, we only do character meals at the parks or the resort we are staying at (as I'm not a fan of going out of my way), and we've never stayed at the Contemporary.

Garden Grill! I've had great experiences with the chatacters here & I like the food as well. The set up of the restaurant allows the character interactions to feel more personal IMO.

For my first trip ever (along with my sister & my mother) in November we picked Akershus. I am really excited.

We have no need to see the characters and the food at the buffets we find so/so. If it's more the buffet your after and not characters. Trail's End Restaurant is probably the best breakfast buffet and one could argue the best breakfast at WDW. I really like that place and had to recommend it if characters is not important. It's also a great resort to make a lazy day at with a lot of unique offerings.

If we are going to hit somethign character for breakfast, we try to find somethign that lets us in the park before it normally opens. We love family photos in an empty theme park

Gah! Hard to choose! We did CRT, Tusker House, Akershus and Crystal Palace.

If I could only book one for my own trip, I would go for Tusker House, because Donald is there, and I loved both the food and the interaction.

If I was recommending for someone else, I think CRT was the most romantic, and I'd recommend dinner there.

We did Cape May Cafe on our last trip and really enjoyed it. It wasn't super crowded, and we met more of the "classic" characters in Donald, Goofy and Minnie!

After we made our ADR's I kept reading about the Tusker House meet n greets. I'm a little jealous, but for our first trip to the world we have reservations at Cinderellas Royal Table and The Crystal Palace! Should be plenty of fun still.
