Hey everyone! I check-in to DLH tomorrow for a long weekend after traveling to a neighboring town for work. I've been pulling 11-12 hour days, plus computer work back at the hotel afterwards, and I just started dreaming of how I'm going to unwind this weekend while I wait to move my clothes to the dryer 🙃

So I thought I'd ask what people's favorite things to do at the parks to unwind and just let go of the outside world. I'm looking forward to a dole whip and listening to the birds sing words and the flowers croon :)

I like to stroll along the Grizzly Peak Trail behind GRR. The sound of the water is relaxing (until you get near the big drop and people are screaming... 😁) and there aren't usually very many people there.

Also how about Tom Sawyer Island?

Thanks everyone!

@Irdandaise I hadn't even thought about the GGR area. I've been to DL twice and I don't think I really took time to enjoy it, was just rushing to the next thing. I'll give it a try! And I've never done Tom Sawyer Island.

@Aspencreek now that I think about it, I'm not sure if I've done the river boat at DL. I know I've done it at WDW, but I don't seem to have any memory of doing it here. I guess I know something I gotta hit this trip!

@BobaFettFan strolling through Galaxy's edge is definitely a favorite! I was lucky enough to be at WDW right after it opened and it had a 6 or 6:30 am opening time. I was blown away watching the sunrise there. Maybe I can catch a sunset this time.

One of my favorite things to do is get a snack at Jolly Holiday and people watch.

Ride the Mark Twain or Pirate Ship Columbia

Find a nice shady bench and just sit for a while.

Ride the train around the park

Tom Sawyer Island

Ride Main street vehicles

Go up to the top level of the Hungry Bear for lunch, back near the trees. It's so quiet up there.

Have a great trip!

Riding all the Main Street transportation and following the Marching Band and Characters down Main Street to the Train Station, after its Castle performance.

We like to find a table over by harbor galley. It’s quiet and tucked away, but you can still see the hustle and bustle of the parks in front of the haunted mansion. Our last day in June, we pretty much just hung out there. We grabbed gumbo in a bread bowl and waited until we needed to leave for the airport. It was super relaxing! And we made a new duck friend!

We sat there for an hour or so last time, it's such a relaxing spot.

Wow, thanks everyone! I needed some extra relaxation after having to find a gas station with air in Long Beach after getting a warning light on a tire this morning 🤣

But I made it here, got a churro, and plan to take a nice walk through the Grizzly Peak Trail before lunch once I finish my soarin' fast pass.

Thanks everyone!

That's not the way to relax. lol

Mark Twain is down, but could do Columbia.

"My Spot" is getting a table outside at Carthay (north side) when Five and Dime are playing.

So do I!!! I have great memories of watching them. Once, we were sitting in one of those alcoves next to the stage and Billy came over and "flirted" with me during the act 😂
That's so cool! I still remember all the jokes. It was a must-do almost every time I went, which was weekly back then.

I managed to grab a nice little spot in the Pacific warf area between the bakery and Ghirardelli and its pretty chill right now! And the new soba salad from the Aunt Cass Cafe is pretty great. Thanks again for all the suggestions, I can already feel my energy returning :)
